A middling score at best. But Bangladesh have batted out the overs, ten runs in the final one is good too. Ferguson was the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand. He went into the pitch, bowled at good pace and got rewarded.

Exceptional bowling performance from New Zealand. On a pitch which is a far cry from the India-Australia game, New Zealand started with a wicket first ball as Litton Das holed out to deep backward square leg. Tanzid Hasan and Mehidy tried rebuilding but Lockie - who bowled with real heat and pace today - removed both. It was the turn of the experienced campaigners - Shakib and Rahim - to bail Bangladesh out. They did so with a 96-run stand in which Rahim was the aggressor. Shakib struggled against the spinners as he failed to rotate strike and towards the end of his innings struggled with heat and cramps. Matt Henry got the big wicket of Rahim with a slower ball off-cutter and the innings just struggled for any momentum. Mahmudullah tried his best but he often found the fielders and 245 on this pitch is well short of a good score. Once again New Zealand with a clinical and efficient performance with Lockie leading the way. But Santner it was who was eye-catching with his changes of pace, line, length, variations and trajectory. 1/31 he finished with and the others complemented him really well. The issue for Bangladesh was the number of dots they faced and Williamson pounced on that by keeping more fielders inside the ring even towards the death. But the paradoxical thing about the Bangladesh innings is that they hit the most number of sixes ever in a World Cup game. Make sense of that. New Zealand should be favorites to chase this down. Back for the reply in 25 minutes...
