There's nothing disheartening about the pregnancy track , afterall it wasn't the last straw. There already have been more profound events which preceded this track like the akshnav marriage itself , moving on track , akshnav romance , akshara being inhumane with abhimanyu to an unbearable extent etc. etc. If those can be neglected then why not this.

Abhimanyu the desperate lover would neverthless accept her with another man's baby , be it now or even in the future. There's no doubt in the fact that akshara saw abhinav romantically, evident by all those curtain scences , eyelocks , dialogues etc... these were the events which were noteworthy , pregnancy is just a mere outcome. Akshnav Marriage and pregnancy both are turning points, if former could be ignored then so can the latter.
