While i m in love with the character Kavya Bansal I can't help be equally entranced by the character Adiraj Pradhan & how both the main leads balance each other!

Kavya is strong girl also if we go by the writer dynamics u people might have noticed that usually the main character always has a trauma, that's actually a set up to make the protagonist strong & to make the audience connect to them. Usually in ITV we see this trope being set for the male leads while the female lead is this soft, flowery, sunshine girl who is supposed to make the ML come out of his trauma and start living his life happily again, here it's the other way round.

Adiraj Pradhan, the male lead is a son who despises his father's controlling behavior, the guy is hell of a motivator for Kavya, given how he has managed to pull the right strings on the girl and made her speak up at the open mic & at the railway station. I won't say he rebels against misogyny as of now bcz so far they have portrayed him as this laid off guy who is intelligent enough to understand what's going on but lazy enough to not butt in giving 1 hr full of feminism speeches, naa that's not him!

In case of AdYa, they have smoothly moved to the track of Adiraj finding out abt Kavya's trauma related to Navya, in the Friday epi's they managed to show how Adiraj has been so soft towards her given he already has a soft corner. This just makes the AdYa dynamics more clear to us. It's just not limited to your sunshine ML, Grumpy FL trope but here the ML will help heal the FL's trauma which is rare from ITV perspective.

All in all the way the characters have been written it shows how Kavya needs a calm, chilled out partner to balance her trauma and calm her down before she steps in to make any impulsive decisions and how Adiraj needs a partner who condemns the controlling misogynist people around him so that Adiraj who has been lazy enough to not rebel against the world he sees but doesn't wanna get involved with will finally step out of the shadows into light!

It's like Adiraj was written for Kavya and Kavya was written for Adiraj!smiley9

Hai shaam tu, taareef main

Tu chain hai, taqleef main

Tujhse mila to paa liya

Har cheez main

Imagine if the ML was our typical angry young man, blazing guns on Netaji, showing power of money to Kavya's ex-would-have-been-in-lawssmiley11 what would be the point of making this show then?

While I completely agree with this new insight of yours, I would like to add some points to it, Which I have noticed. smiley9

You know in Friday's episode, the writers have tried to divert the vision of the public towards the fact that Adi may seem to be a sunshine ML, he is actually not. He is in fact a tragic hero. smiley18And they did this terrific job by making Sanjeev the medium who notices Adiraj's rage towards his father. They legit made him speak out the message they want to convey. I loved the fact that they did not let the viewers to imagine because they know that the viewers don't really analyse a show or its characters. smiley9

My point is are we sure that Adiraj is lazy? What if his father has actually done something to his mother and he is chained because of his mother's pleadings?smiley18

He seem to find his hope of 'free-flow' in Kavya. It's actually an equal give and take situation between them, which is most of the time not present in other couples of ITV. The fun fact is both the leads are flawed and need each other like two pieces of a puzzle. ❤️❤️

It's amazing how u got hold of this hint by the writers 😉. Yeah totally that could be the case, it might just not be a dialog of Sanjeev but the reality of Adiraj smiley19

For this i feel it's more abt he doesn't want to show the world how he has had to live a controlled life without getting to do anything of his choice till now bcz of his father. Remember he also said- " Kuch logo ko free flowing rehne dena chahiya warna mauhol bhari ho jata hai" which means if he told the world his side of story & his struggle to escape from the cluthes of his father & to get his mom out of it too & that was his motivation behind becoming an IAS, the people might feel burdened listening to it or they will try to sympathize with him which he doesn't want!

Agreed with the last line 😉

True

I dont think his story will have just the struggles of breaking free

If u remember the train ride, u may have noticed how he spoke about suicide.

I think someone in his life went through this too.

He spoke about stages of grief. And suicide.

There is a deeper story there. Someone important to him might have ended their life. But as of now tge story will focus more on Kavya and her fears. Her beef with Jaydeep. Her trauma of losing a sister to suicide. His story will follow later on. I fond the premise quite interesting.

He has a brother too. Did he have someone else in his life who ended their life destroying his relationship with his father and forced him to wear the persona of a happy go lucky person?

Maybe...

I also don’t think Kavya will head towards grumpy FL trope. As of now both the characters are beautifully sketched. Not extremists. And ready to move forward. They look real and relatable.

What I have noticed till now is that the individual stories of Kavya and Adiraj are running parallel.smiley9 However, the writers have started the process of coinciding their stories by linking Adi's father with Basant Khedi, who seemed to want to get a hold of that village. He probably have tried this earlier as well by selling fraud medicines in that village (even though it's pretty early to assume this). 🤔

But what I feel is that Adi will have his own journey of self-realisation rather than Kavya instilling that realisation in him. smiley9

ITV always given the ML from a dysfunctional family to be insensitive, arrogant, hates women... Then one day a girl comes and she changes him.....

But here they shows him as a person who is carefree... But he is hiding a ocean inside him... We only know that he doesn't have a motive.. Like to be free flowing... But doesn't he have any dream? Every one has something right...

He knows the stages of grief so well... He explained it in very well kavya from a deeper level... We don't know what made him that.. Its still mystery....

After watching yesterday's episode its clear that Giriraj pradaan plays mind games with Adi too... He knows Adi will go against his wishes... So he uses that behavior of Adi for his gains.... Even though Adi says.. He escaped his father's controlling... He is not... His thoughts are still controlled by his father... This is Adiraj's journey too to get control of his life fully on his hands... I have a strong feeling that Basandkhedi will be turning point for both Kavya and Adiraj individually....
