Why not just enjoy what Pathaan achieved without trying to lower Gadar 2's achievement?

One can be an SRK fan, an SRKian without focussing on a movie (here Gadar 2) that released with other conditions.

Pathaan has absolutely nothing in common with Gadar 2 that one could compare in a fair way.

Leave Gadar 2 to its own and its own success.

No 🙏

Hahaha relax. I have no issues with Gadar2 being ATBB or ATG. Koi lena dena hi nahi. Just sharing facts with those who have a problem with Pathan.

Well, as I'm not "salty", I find it okay...nothing special, though, if there are still theatres to want to show it.

Pathan had a deal with Amazon for streaming, so it was clear that it would not be kept in theatres after a certain time.

As someone here stated correctly, Zee is the producer of Gadar 2, Zee also is the streaming platform, so they can do as they want...

Again, no ground for a fair comparison, imo... the conditions again are different smiley2

In this age of movies being removed from the theaters within a week or two, completing a half century in the theatrical run is indeed special because it means it still has takers and is able to yield profits to those respective theater owners.

There is no comparison of course other than the BO because Pathaan happened to be the no. 1 at the Hindi BO. Pathaan too kept comparing their numbers with the then no. 1 highest grosser Baahubali 2. The BO experts need some yardstick to measure the success right? We shouldn’t read too much into it. Every success is special on its own and cannot be undermined no matter how much someone tries.

Agree with the bold!

Still there is no base to compare Gadar 2 with Pathaan or Jawan or any other 'stand-alone' movie.

I would agree with the comparison with Bahubali 2, but only to a certain extend as Bahubali 2 is an organic sequel to Bahubali (if I'm right as I haven't watched both yet).

Bahubali 2 set a benchmark at the national nett boxoffice (all-India), but a comparison with the Hindi-language part of the national boxoffice is comparable...and there, Pathaan and Gadar 2 and Jawan have crossed the 510 cr of Bahubali 2. (but to me, that's the only point of comparison)

Indeed.

The domestic boxoffice is divided into language-wise boxoffice and all-India boxoffice (=all languages in which the movie could be watched).

BOI and Taran (and maybe other trade analysts) focus on the HINDI language nett boxoffice (Taran, although, also publishing the other languages as an extra). Of course, that is no problem if the movie only got released in Hindi (like Gadar 2).

Sacnilk (and others) publishes the all-India nett collection (but lists that of the different languages behind in parentheses), so one has a very good comparison base.

BOI indeed lowered the HINDI nett collection (for whatever reason) for Pathaan by deducing about 12 cr...and they had been the only one of those I know. The all-India nett boxoffice is, imo, out of Gadar 2's reach.

I don't know numbers about the footfalls except those written here.

Still, I maintain that Gadar2 is a special case because it wouldn't even have happened without Gadar...it's in no way a 'stand-alone' movie like Pathaan and Jawan.
