If Kabir is the ML then it's cheating, because they would go against their promo. Then Ambika would not be the Saas of Kesar and definitely Shakuntala is should not be the title lead.

But why do we even have Shakuntala? She is not needed.. but she is there.. that actress is really good and I think she is quite famous. And the one playing Kabir is also good.

Actually, right now I am not able to understand the point of both Kabir and Shakuntala. Ambika's importance will reduce if Shakuntala becomes the Saas. Then Shakuntala becomes the titular character. It depends on how they progress the story from here.

Maybe they took inspiration from Saubhagyavati Bhava. Suraj might be like Viraj Dobriyal and the saas might support the DIL.
