I think Seerat is a terrible character, minus the fact that she is actually compatible with Angad, she benefits Angad and vice versa. Sahiba Angad just ruin each others lives.
Roopam or anyone else playing it would not change that for me. But I do feel bad for every actress that has any angle with ml, suddenly they're worst actresses, even veterans like Anita get called attention seekers and what not.
Only time I saw it happening with male 3rd angle is Abhinavs character ( Jay Soni ) because Harshad fans are ultra crazy and too large in number. Jay Soni first male victim of misogyny I fear.
