I think Bollywood in the early 90s was still suffering from an 80s hangover fashion wise. Big shoulders, big hair, big accessories etc. Then Manish Malhotra did the costumes for some movies and the change was welcomed by all and he gained fame and prestige. I definitely agree that becoming friends with KJo probably didn’t hurt in the beginning but now he himself is big enough solo brand.

Kiara chose him for personal reasons. Both her and Sid are close to him. Kiara also mentioned once that at the start of her career when she needed a dress for an event other designers ignored her and Manish Malhotra was the only one who helped her.

Parineeti, I’m not sure why she chose Manish, and such questionable outfits too 🤷🏽‍♀️

I think some of this is on Parineeti too . I know people had mixed reactions to Kiara’s wedding outfit but her mehndi and Sangeet looks were amazing. This time Pari’s sangeet look is OK but her mehndi looks like an everyday outfit 🤷🏽‍♀️. I mean whatever makes her comfortable, but I’m sure she’s had a lot of input here too.

That Mehndi outfit is something we won't wear for someone else's mehndi too. let alone our own..

Pari made all the bad choices..looks like a guest in her own reception ..even posed like one.

Sangeet outfit..can't find anything comparable to say..ye to kahin par bhi nahi pehen sakte
