There should be separate email id just for this purpose.

Phone I have never given to twitter or fb. I didn't even download messenger. If IF has the number, just for reg, and only admin sees and deletes. It's not a big issue. It's only an issue for those who create mids. Coz to stop mids.. these is the best possible and feasible solution.

U can have another sim to do that too.

Besides it's not gonna affect the old users much apart from not receiving some benefits.

Why are you so keen on insisting the number. Whereever phone number is complusory, I personally don't register even with my second number as we need to submit our documents for getting it.

For a site like IF there is no need to give number. Vérification of email is enough for newbies. Otherwise we just need to report MID posts and mods will take care. MIDs only continue as they get responses. When nobody engages with them, not even likes emojis then they lose their thrilled part. Another way is Newbies post count be two for day one. That can surely curtail them.

Having experience abuse from a member and his MIDs some years back and seen how things work here (was a mod before), phone number is a complete No No.

Few here are saying free mobile numbers can also be generated so asking for it too is of no use.

IF site should try improving identifying IP so IP ban feature can be implemented so that those who create nuisance are forever banned from coming here. (It was so frustrating as a mod to do all the work and ban the user to see them come back again and again.. seems just pointless. Back then there was no Moderator id.)

How permanent IP ban can be implemented, experts in the field can know better.

IP ban had been there for a long time. But people use IPblockers.

They get unlimited emails to assist.

Am I Insisting? I thought I'm giving clearing to misunderstandings people have with the contact number suggestion. As some people believe it will be compulsory for all. I mean.. there's a bit of a song and dance about it. Also the suggestion was to delete it immediately and only Vijay to have access.

It's called clarification of misunderstanding of suggestion.

If its looked upon as insisting. Then fairplay. I Insist it.

Again realise this is not just a discussion forum but also a networking site esp a Youth Networking Site. All precautions should be taken.

At the moment no one is held up to give their number or even their permanent number.. so ya'll can chill.. till it happens.
