So basically Beyhadh 1 was complete and ended up with Maya's death (joh ki necessary ta my pov)
And its theme was Beyhadh Mohabbat, right? Maya was consumed by her love for Arjun until her last breath. Plus because of her childhood trauma, she cherished that love she never had.
Compared to it, Beyhadh 2's theme was Beyhadh nafrat, she was back for revenge because of what Rudra's parents and relatives did to her. But jahan nafrat wahan pyaar bhi hai, right? So she fell for Rudra but didn't forget her goal. Baki details hai you have to watch it until a certain point.
So I'll tell you this Maya 2 was meant to be better than Maya Mehrotra, but nahin ho paya, lakin both were different and badass.
Maya 1 was more psycho than Maya 2 (again my pov) but Jennifer nailed it in both. When the show was becoming interesting unfortunately it shut down. So of course Beyhadh 1 was better, but Dusra Wala Beginning is not bad. You can give it a try (ziada eps nahin hai you can ff it like I did).
Plus Maya in black was my favorite. Black hit differently on Jennifer uffffff! 
I also have my pov on what could happen in the second season (the end) but I wanna write a review on it 1 vs. 2 kind
