She was actually 19 when the show aired, in fact think the entire cast played characters younger than their actual age.

Apart from maybe Kelly Bishop and Edward Hermann, gosh miss those actors!

I think it was harder to make the connection that Jess is Jack from This Is Us when you flit and flick between the two.
