Kartik was definitely important from storytelling perspective. He moved Yuvika's story forward that we can't deny.

Back paddle Karne K liye character ko thoda aage badhana padhta hai, Neil is still there Jahan woh apne entry episode mein tha so there is no scope of back paddle

Also I feel they will do justice to Neil. I don't know it's just the gut feeling. They are continuously maintaining the fishy shade around Neil.

Kal the moment Neil walked away from Yuvika his expressions, body language changed...
