I mean of course right from IPKKND to TMD, ITV couples have been inspired from pride and prejudice... They are all sasta toxic Darcy and Elizabeth.. But here I just couldn't help seeing Angad and Sahiba.. Himanshis high cheekbones and smile really reasmbles Knightleys while Darcys calm yet arrogant nature matches with Angads in the initial days when he was with his family... And the thing is that Mathew Mcfadyen (Darcy) is my favorite actor when you take English movies into consideration and VJ in ITV 🙈🙈.. I dunno if that has biased my view🤧

But yes... No couple comes even close to the OG Elizabeth n Darcy... Their bar is too high to reach...

The way the writers wrote these characters Himanshi/ Vj fits perfectly with their screen presence and acting.that is why we see more familiarity..

Yeah Himanshi has those cheekbones. Angad was based on Darcy only (all Gul heroes in fact), the arrogant about money, rich man, self respecting woman, they just overdo and make it ultra dark with forced marriages and other serious crimes. The bhabi bhakt Angad is based on a unique character Virat Chavan.

Riddhi was Darcy through and through, judged Khori because Dyuti and her mom cheated him till she proved she was nothing like them.

Pride Prejudice movie is very lovely , one of my favorite translations of a book to screen and Keira killed her role. Love Matthew too, he killed it on Succession. But it is funny to see a stunning woman like Keira be casted as the uglier sister, nothing against Rosamund who is a terrific actress but Keira would be considered prettier to average eye.

All love hate stories on itv are loosely based on Darcy Elizabeth only. Arrogant rich man (idhar criminal after few episodes), woman with self respect(idhar doormat after few episodes).

B2- Yaah.. he's again I felt a sastha Darcy.. But I dunno if he's Darcy through and through. I don't think any indian rich guy resembles Darcy. Because Darcy was truly nice no.. he wasn't glorified.. But yes he sure does resemble Darcy... Atleast not a bhabi bhakt...

By the way it's my favorite movie adaptation of a book too.

B3- oh yes... Keira has something about her that makes her stand out.. Very interesting face.. Beautiful actually.. But I don't think she's the uglier sister... In the book Elizabeth is beautiful but not as beautiful as Jane. I guess probably Rosamund probably fits the blonde english beauty label. I dunno. But I for sure find Keira more beautiful.

Yeah I compared Riddhi to Darcy because he judged her due to her sister's mistakes till she left house and Dadu said look one sister did crime and refused punishment, other left without any mistake. Same like Darcy judging Elizabeth due to Lydia and Kitty. But the other qualities of course not, no itv male lead compares.

My favorite romantic scene in a movie has to be the rain proposal, the tension, the chemistry, the delivery, how lovely.

My favorite adaptations have to be Lord of the Rings and Room, even Atonement starring Keira Knightley and Gone Girl.

But Pride Prejudice has the most re-watch quotient for me. No wonder every itv show follows that template.
