Kartik is anything but karn equivalent.

He is a tool to expose yuvika's goal to show mahajan family.

He is suppose to be a layered character whose wrongdoings are driven by his flaws. His insecurity and concern for yuvika was not that much wrong. Yuvika do put Neil before him and never shared anything about the whole investigation. Kartik being a middle class boy cannot be comfortable in this world of conspiracy.

But makers keep adding all the toxic traits such as egoistic, manhandler, liar, doubting yuvika, helping the enemy. Yuvika and bhoomi specifically told him to stay away from dj but still he went ahead. He was a pawn to dj not a friend.

For me he was a badly written character not some great layered character.

Every one sympathize with karna one or the other time here never felt bad for Kartik he left yuvika when she was needed him the most when he came back doubted her just because she was with different guy yuvika said she will go back to rishikesh when she proves prems innocence but he forgot that he kept telling her that she changed after coming to Delhi after seeing yuvika busy he was jealous of her instead of happy that finally she has goal in life said he dont to be ghar jamai but in two days joined Phoenix without hesitation he did not go to save her in fire but made sure claim his fiance status in that situation if he truly liked her he would have been with yuvika on that day after the fire incident but he went to his home ,discurraged yuvika to step up out manhandled herald what not he was comfortable with Mahajans but had problem with yuvika becoming independent

You just listed all the reasons of my hatread towards Kartik Others would've started hating him after he returned but I've hated him ever since she left her at Rishikesh

I'm pretty sure DJ already knows that Neil loves Yuvika....that's why DJ mentioned Neil , instilled fear into Kartik's mind that Neil will charm Yuvika away in order to get his work done by Kartik...
