This is actually a psychological tendency. Some even calls it a psychological disorder. I have heard about it so watching that very scene I got how Yuvika's mind works but I guess those who studies this can say better.

You yourself in a medical field though your stream is different. I guess only specialised people can enlighten this better way.

I watched ek web where the fl had kinda similar issue but wahan it happened due to childhood trauma. Inha Yuvika tho has no such childhood issues. I guess she has developed this from Prem's death only. She couldn't take his death and she is not over that trauma yet. I hope Swastik highlights this issue of Yuvika & handles it properly.
