lol ..can’t think of a contemporary mainstream Bollywood actor who did something like this …there is always an element of sanitisation whenever a mainstream actor plays such underdog roles…the actor is made to look a atleast glamours to make it palatable for the wider audience

the only other mainstream actors who did something like this is vikram and surya from pithamgan, dhanush from asuran / aadakulam and karthi from kaithi…all of whom won numerous awards for their work aswell incl national awards …

Allu arjuns performance was raw with absolute conviction to the role which was quite difficult to play to begin with

He is a product of like, by individuals who are not completely satisfied within themselves bec of his compromising looks (for the industry). He is cocooned because the other actors like the famous 4 i just mentioned, Sid, Ranbhir, even Ranveer... I have to grudgingly admit are of the conventional lookers in the Industry.

So Vicky has a lot of support and promotion within. But we are just a handful of people here... we cannot really make a difference to the outer audience. For validation of point of view and choice subconsciously fans convince and try to appeal their fav to those around them, esp dislikers. It's a psychological thing.. then once time passes... they begin to settle.

It's like any promotional campaign. They are ' raising awareness..'

So Vicky is in that social phase for fans.

Look how Ranbhir fans have settled.. bec he's been in the industry for so long, they have more confidence in their product of choice, hence they don't respond much now to criticism, nor make promotional posts.

But if he works good and hard. Vicky will in time get rewarded support long as he leaves an impression.

If putting some makeup/clothes on to look poor & speaking in an accent is NA worthy then Hrithik should've recieved it for Super 30. Much superior to Pushpa's mainstream/formula trash that's been seen umpteen times since the 90s.

I think it's safe to say none of these people have seen Sardar Uddham or they wouldn't be making such atrocious statements. Possibly the best performance of the decade. But then again Kriti won for Mimi so the committee must've been phoonking some special Maal. 😆

I don't think it was a difficult role to play of SU. It was just quite serious. I think it is the character that people liked more, but thinking it's the acting that made the character. If you catch my drift.

If Arjun wud not have got it, I think NTR shud have for his performance in RRR.

There were phases that Pushpas character went thru.. which actually helped hit it right in the climax, that switch.. Arjun is brilliant at it.

It was far beyond a little hunch and make up.

Yep …anyone can put makeup on to look “deglamourous” …only good performances can sell it with conviction without looking artificial …hrithiks atrocious Bihari accent was heavily critisised by many as to how inauthentic it was ….😂😂…and the fact that he looked like a star acting “poor”

Anyone who watched pushpa in its original language can vouch for arjuns dialogue delivery and how well allu arjun played it without any sense of artificiality …it’s also the reason why it connected across the country with barely any promotions done beyond the Telugu version and despite another massive release (83) competing with it …

precisely why super 30 won nothing …

not awards, not box office records , not people mouthing your punchlines or copying ur mannerisms, … , literally no impact made 😇

And yep the hunch…maintaining character mannerisms consistently , even through the songs, which is why Srivalli became a massive hit with its signature step 😎

It’s all part of playing a character ….and it’s all “acting”…not everyone can do it convincingly as evidenced by ur own example 😂

Didn't he get one for Uri? He didn't deserve it then. So I guess it balances itself.

Anyway he didnt deserve it more than Suriya for Jai Bhim.
