I thought this member might have had some bad experience on this forum but when Khala posted about this thread on that topic then I got to know the real story and I am sure there were many more like me!! Shameful and pathetic that even in 2023 some people are of this mindset!! 🤢

I mean she was an adult and gone into relationship knowhly that she will have sex with him sooner or later. It's just that the boyfriend that she liked very much and saw her future with forced himself on her without her consent.

It wasn't like she was an underage girl kidnapped by some goons and thrown onto gutter or something so horrible. She was a modern girl so i dont think she was crying about "haye haye meri izzat loot gayi, mei barbaad ho gayi kisiko muh dikhane layak nahi rahi n all that.

For her it was all about consent. So there was no need to act the way she did. She litterally acted like how sideys in 70s or 80s would react after getting raped.

Having someone's hymen pierced without their wish is painful. When there is no desire neither control over their body since the person is drugged is horrible. Forceful sex is not sex, its assult.

Karthik needs to be careful and do solid stories instead of choosing such half backed products.

I felt kiara overreacted a lot.

Her being raped by her own boyfriend and trying to committ suicide over it was just too dramatic for my liking. I mean she was a mature girl having a relationship with a boy and acting all coy and sanskari. I mean I couldn't digest the plot line tbh.

Her extreme reaction and getting into depression would've been justified had she been raped by an unknown person. But the guy was someone she was seriously fooling around and sooner or later they were going to do it.

In this movie both male n female leads believe in saving themselves for marriage. And the heroine makes a hue n cry about sex before marriage.

It axtually felt like the plot was inspired from 70s or 80s movies where hero ki behen committ suicide after getting raped. Unnecessary drama from the girl's side I believe.

I understand consent is a must but why lead the guy on and then refuse him? Why get into relationship when you are not ready? Don't give double signals and confuse the guy. Simple.

I don't know why some people like to make things so complicated.

What you need to realize is that "Rape" isn't just Sex. Rape is Violence, Cruelty, its Brutality. It's no different than getting beat up by your husband/boyfriend(which I'm sure even you would condemn) but with worse physical & psychological scars on the victim. Sex is involved, but Rape isn't sex. If you understood that, you would not be making such despicable remarks.

Btw I'm neither a liberal nor a female.

So when she said she wasn't ready the guy could've waited..for the same reason.

Sooner or later it was gonna happen so why couldn't he wait? The guy who didn't bother with how she felt then wouldn't bother about her feelings in future too

I loved this one so much😭😭😭 I wish Satya wasn't that desperate in first half, but that character redemption in one dialogue🤌

Kiara looked beautiful and was such a good performer, but Supriya Pathak, she stole my heart🥺😭

It could have been better though, some dialogues, the door scene after she tells Satya's family could have been better, but that's ok, it was a beautiful story💕

I was genuinely surprised with this one. Didnt have any idea what the movie was about. When finally it got reveled, and the way Kiara performed in that scene, just became her fan. I felt for her, the shock was not only for Sattu but the audience too. Beautifully written, and executed that scene 👏 👏

Supriya pathak, her talk with Sattu, she won my heart.

Music, special mention to music. What beautiful melodies, i had to look up music directors. Never heard of them but i think bollywood is ready for some new blood, can we retire Pritam and alike please.

The whole cast did very well. My only problem with storyline was how Sattu brought all of katha's story infront of everyone without asking her first. I get it they needed something big for climax, but this is also not ok. Survivors have to be ready to share before you can talk about it, otherwise its like taking power away from them all over again.

Still havent seen jara hatke zara jhatke, but this was by far one of the best romcom in recent times.

After seeing the comments in this topic. I am glad the film was made. Some people really need to learn more about this topic. There are some things you can’t have an opinion about, and rape is one of them.

Read up rape cases. There have been legit cases where women have filed cases against men who they have had children with and won. It doesn’t matter what the circumstances are, and whatever relationship you have or don’t have. There is no justification for rape.

And wow…. The way Kiara’s character reacted was an overreaction?? Sorry!…. Do you know how many women ACTUALLY take their life after being raped ! My god what am I reading here? There are very few moments in my life where I have been triggered and this is one of them. This is downright disgusting.
