I think they have a warped understanding of "wholesome." My aunt couldn't get through some of the movie's ultra-violence or extended fight scenes. I don't think a film with violence of any kind can be wholesome.

Oh, and I stand by what I said.

How does what I said change the definition of "wholesome," though? A wholesome movie will always be one sans sex and violence that the whole family can enjoy.
