No reliable study out there showing topical makeup items cross over into breast milk. In general, topical products are considered safe in pregnancy/breastfeeding. Of course FDA doesnāt regulate over the counter and make up products as strictly or at all as prescription/non-prescription meds so thereās always a risk with everything, including food items.

Topical as it pertains to non-ingestion?
Yep, creams, gels, ointments etc. As a general rule, topicals are considered to have minimal if any impact on breastfeed/pregnancy.
It's just really hard to know if these are standards followed all over the world?

Yeah thereās always that too. Based on studies, topicals simply donāt have the same level of systemic exposure as oral meds to cause harm. Unless of course theyāve been contaminated with toxic chemicals on purpose. Not totally out of the realm of possibility given the world we live in. Your concerns arenāt unwarranted.
Moreover, Lead in Lipstick really has no safe amount; even small amounts can have adverse effects, especially for children. These adverse effects can include neurotoxicity, reduced fertility, delayed puberty onset, and other hormonal issues. šš¼
Is it possible RK's concerns could be about the health of his little girl?
