I tried saying that to someone pre Gadar 2 release, and they nearly bit my head off.

Watch. You won't regret.

Why would anyone do that?! Fans on here sure get way tooo touchy around film release time. Bhalai ka toh zamana hi nahin raha.

Thank you! I’ll check it out this weekend. Better late than never.

Do you guys agree?

How was the political climate when Gadar 1 released?

As it was the ATTB movie that time as well.

Anil Sharma adapted to this new era better than Adi or Karan or Sooraj 😆 (an I won’t even get into the pretentious wanna be European directors)

I disagree... Sharma didn't "adapt", he profited from Sunny being BJP and Gadar still being in peoples's mind as an extraordinary success-movie. He still had the cast at hand , especially with his son as a child artist in the 2001 movie and now ready to launch him as an adult actor...Sunny still was physically fit enough and Ameesha there, too...so, with the needed financial support he made a so-so movie putting it in a time 20 years later (late 70ies). But the main protagonists weren't Sunny and Ameesha anymore, it was his son and Simrat.

The producers - I'm sure of that - betted on the nostalgia-factor and the organic sequel...and the audience proved them right.

I think, at that time, Sharma made a rather honest movie of events during the partition...it had been a movie that really touches the hearts till today...

In 2 decades a man making honest movies turned into n opportunist coz political climate of the country changed?

Let me break it to people that in 2001 Kargil war was fresh in people's mind and it was BJP govt at the centre.

So if u want u can bash Gadar1 too instead of calling it n honest movie.

. Oh !! You mean the young Jeetey was Utkarsh Sharma only as a kid ?

I disagree on the bit that Sunny/Amisha weren’t the protagonists… IMO , they were … that’s how it appeared to me , jeetey and Simran were second leads , I felt

. Especially that scene when Tara sees Sakina on the station during the riots with TaJ Mahal in her hands … that scene got embedded in my soul then and still is

Did not understand your reaction...I bashed nobody and nothing...to profit from an opportunity doesn't mean something negative...

I just opposed the opinion of Sharma 'adapting'...
