Yes he was ready to convert and also take up Pakistani citizenship, after Ashraf Ali challenges him as to why his daughter only should make all the sacrifices for their love.
Also in the beginning when the Hindu and Sikh people were after Sakeena’s blood calling her a Muslim, he lends his name to her. But he dismisses it off as a momentary thing merely to protect her and that he would never dare to dream of marrying a princess like her.Sakeena genuinely falls in love with him later and literally proposes to him.

Have to watch it again to see if I feel the same way

You will not regret watching it again. I only watched it recently and fell in love with Tara Singh and Sunny Deol.☺️

I have never watched Gadar. This actually sounds sweet. You convinced me.
Thank you for saying this. Some people seriously need to get off their high horses and cease questioning or degrading other people's choices simply because it's different. Gadar pulled crowds again upon re-release because it's a genuinely good love story that touched the masses including the actual partition survivors with its balanced take. Slogans in the second half couldn't be avoided given the heated atmosphere following partition and communal riots. Even then, the hero didn't humiliate any religious sect or country.Originally posted by: surajhere
Maybe people should watch Gadar before going off on a rant.
Gadar is a love story set in the back drop of partition. Tara Singh is in love with Sakina even before the partition happens that is why he saves Sakina even though his whole family has been butchered in the riots. It is the story of a man who goes to another country to bring back his wife during extremely volatile atmosphere. That's the whole premise of Gadar.
In 2001 Gadar succeeded because it was a good film made for people who acually spend their hard earned money on buying tickets and watch movies in theatres.
I remember Anil Sharma giving a dressing down to Suhel Seth on a Gadar debate somewhere in 2002 about this.
@Bold - Could you please elaborate? I'm curious about it.
Pure vegetarian is a common term used by everybody in India
(Could be Indian English, not sure)
Haven't people seen restaurant boards or food labels in India that says "Pure Vegetarian"?
This is a South Indian restaurant in NYC
But this can't be explained to 'my way or highway' people.
Can't make out whether they r actually so hare brained or extremely cunning

It's an incredibly sweet movie.
I tried saying that to someone pre Gadar 2 release, and they nearly bit my head off.
Watch. You won't regret.

Some people won't watch the movie no matter what .so sharing this particular scene along with the iconic handpump
I was wondering why this great actress doesn't have any work after the superhit success of Gadar 2. She has faded away again. I am so confused....
Chunkey Panday happiest for Ahaan’s success (Saiyaara) https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOyKNklj93J/?igsh=MXFpMTNud2IyeG45bg==
Tanisha says she is not a bad actress/ Neal Nikki was a success https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOWdlSKjO9e/?igsh=ZDA3eTFuYWZ3YjZw
No hints for guessing he came to support one of his closest and oldest childhood friend Ahaan's success...
