Now every celebrity making fun of the public's struggle by writing few lines of appreciation for rubbish monsters will be given such award. What has Sajal even done to deserve this award? She doesn't deserve to even hold it.
Sorry I never posted any such thing for any celebrity or actor before as they were only a source of entertainment for me nothing too special but since yesterday I have an immense urge to slap all these selfish hypocrites black and blue. They are just making all the victim's feel like a fool.
Their actions has made almost every Pakistani ashamed of them, I'm not alone in it.
It's a governament honour which is distributed on every independence day no matter which party is ruiling. So how is the winner of these honours making fun of the public's struggle? Adnan Siddiqui also got honoured.
She did two international projects and she isn't even 30 yet. Pak industry is very small so it's a big deal unlike Indian film industry. If this award is equivalent to Padma Shri then it is given to people in the field of arts and science and culture etc. Unlike India which has a well established arts and culture industry all pakistan has is their actors and musicians. So obviously it will be given to actors that are appreciated for their acting.
You yourself said these actors have been only a source of entertainment for you and nothing more. That's exactly their job. To entertain people with their craft. They are not activist or social workers. They are not morally obligated to stand against powerful regimes and fight for anything. Acting is their job and they are doing that just the way everyone else in Pakistan is doing their job.
I don't see people being mad at Ambani's or Tatas or the cricketers for not taking a stand for the country or speak against the government. Why are actors expected or forced to do so? The richest people in Pakistan probably holds more power than the government. Why not ask them to take a stand? Why not leave the jobs provided by the rich people and stand for the country? Is it only the actors that have moral obligation towards the country?
Like you who can have a political opinion they can as well and it's their personal choice whether to openly talk about it or not. Like everyone have the right to freedom of speech and expression in a democracy they also have the right to remain silent.
Why do people expect actors to be freedom fighters? They have a life and they also need to survive. If the government comes after them who is gonna protect their family? Everyone saw what happened to srk, one of the biggest superstars in the world. Pak actors are literally cake walk for the political party, whether it's the ruling or the opposition. They will be bashed and character assassinated no matter what they do. If some actors take the opposition's side then the followers of the ruling party will be after them and if it's the other way then the opposition will be after them.
