I guess it depends on the awareness and accessibility to safe sex. Like in a western country 15-16 yr olds are given proper sex education and they have access to pills and condoms. But in countries like India or Pakistan where there is no proper sex education or awareness, girls and boys as young as 15-16 being sexually active is pretty risky. Maturity level also matters. Like in the drama it's pretty obvious the girl has no idea about sex and her mother didn't had the talk with her. She is simply send to the guy's room right after marriage. Since the guy is also young and they grew up together he don't have any sexual interest in her so she isn't traumatized on her first night.

Even onscreen I never found him good looking or charming. I don't get the hype with him. Even his acting is not as good as people make it to be. I always found ranveer to be a way better and more versatile actor.
