Maybe after kavian get married the serial might end. So for sometime they stretch and close. New serial kavya is there. Maybe that will get this time slot. Just a thought. Not sure.

Actually, story isn't stretching. Its just that most people don't have not watched this show properly.
The entire fiasco is because of Reet. She made Kailash believe that, if Katha and Viaan become one, his grandson Aarav will be separated from him. Similarly, Reet portrayed Katha as a Homebreaker in front of Teji. And, from very beginning, we know how possessive Teji is with her son. Same is True for Mr. Grewal.
Not to mention, this episode also invoked one of the themes about this show. Moving on from the past . The things she said kind of made sense. The past eventually comes around .
