I will term Kekayi as fool not a wicked woman. She repented for her deeds. She deserves forgiveness.

Anyone and everyone has the potential to make mistakes and do wrong. Bur Shri Ram is great because he had the ability to forgive and look at the postive side of things. Mata Kaikeyi is great because she had the ability to acknowledge her wrong-doing, repent and thereby purify herself. Ramayan is a book of ideals. It also teaches us how to behave when we commit major mistakes. We should learn from Kaikeyi, and learn to forgive like Shree Ram.

there is a marathi drama which i have seeen which shows dat wen rishi vishwamitra came to ask dhashrath to give him ram & laxman so they could kill all the rakshas he met with kaikeyi and made her understand that she has 2 var given to her by dashrath which are yet pending. she must ask ram's vanvaas as 1 of her var for only then will ram be able to kill ravan...which was necessary to end the rule of demons. kaikeyi is said to have pleaded with vishwamitra to give this task to ram's other 2 mothers...for she too loved ram as much as sumitra & kaushalya..however vishwamitra explained that they didnt have the 2 var which she did. hence she did this for the worlds betterment

hey someone said above that kaikeyi was krishna's mother too?? which one was kaikeyi...yashoda or devki...plz reply...i m very much eager to know

Why should we hate kaikayi? it's a matter of point of views. those who will see ramayan as a bollywood or tv serial kind of story will hate kaikayi. (bec. she brought miseries to the lives of our God or should i say these actors)...nobody can understand these characters without going deep inside them and ramayan. it's said by some wise person that we must thank all the bad people on this earth bec. they have given us a lesson on what should "not" be done on their own expense. how do we know this is right or this is wrong? good ki definition will come from "bad". what is not "bad" is "good"
