Now coming to this, firstly people were complaining that its too fast...toh they have probably slowed down.

Secondly, this is my perspective that the makers want the audience to understand the depth of bitterness, anger and sadness these two leads have undergone...so they can connect with them when story moves in present time hence stretching it little bit.
