What do they sell in Macarthur park ??

All those who have some complex about own skin and looks will cry racism.

Now irked at praise for Kashmiris after praise for Koreans.

Though in older posts I have praised Coorgis, people from Northeast and Bengalis as well.

But yeah carry on and cry harder.

All I see here is meltdown of pseudo nationalists who have superiority complex about own stuff and cannot handle other stuff being more famous worldwide.

Also we all have own preferences.

You can like anyone or define attractiveness your way. Let others define theirs.

And stop whining.

This reminds me of those who call Ash overrated in looks or also whine Madhubala, Hema, Deepika, Katrina etc are overrated. Or ones who call Hrithik, Salman and Dharam's looks overrated.

Khud ka kuch hai nahi toh dusre ki taareef sun ke jalte raho.

Reminds me of a time on some other site where some insecure people were whining when someone praised height and baritone of Amitabh and Kabir Bedi. Probably the praise must have made some people insecure about own height or voice so started bashing others.

Cope. What else can one say?

Gucci bag discussion is gonna be labelled classist and get members accused of class based hate and shaming.

Also now we will have people debating whether Gucci is still a luxury brand or has its value been diluted?

Better focus on topic at hand whether South Asian pop culture can ever get that level of fandom globally or not.

Even if they ger govt support?

I agree with other users in previous pages who said govts in South Asia are usually at loggerheads with own entertainment industry and censor them or bash them. What will they support, fund or promote them?

Indians, Pakistanis etc often disown own achievers due to religious, communal, caste, tribe or cultural or political reasons.

Bashing of Khans for communal and political reasons is one example. Lata Mangeshkar was also bashed for caste and political reasons when she died. Jus Reign and Superwoman are accused of caricaturing own community or hurting religious sentiments. Satyajit Ray also used to get bashed by politicians and religious lobbies alike. Here we are insecure of own lot and think they are agents to destroy our caste, tribe, culture or community or defame nation blah blah.

The only one who needs to cope is you.

You are only one having a hard time coping with the fact that Indian movies/music/skincare/bowelcare/nosecare/etc etc is not as popular as Korean.

That is the reality. Cope with it and stop crying.

What you are writing racist to the core. No two ways about it.

But that is par for the course for many Indians so not surprised at all.

No one is jealous of anyone's success or praise. But no need to put the people of an entire region down for that.
How pathetic can one be!

Going back to my first post. It's not as big as the OP is making it out to be. It's a niche sub culture. BTS is the only K Pop artist/group you'll find on any Spotify Lists. And even then they're nowhere as popular as "Bad Bunny"(Peurto Rico). An average person does not know who any of the other K Pop groups are. The older you are, the more truth this statement holds. It's only their "Fans" who are so notorious & so well organized....that bring them attention. Sorta like SSR fans in India. But it doesn't mean anybody other than BTS is mainstream in anyways.

Speaking of Bad Bunny....I think after him, Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee, Marc Anthony....we should be talking about Puerto Rican music instead of Korean.

And as far as Skin Care goes....it's just a bunch of delusional women who think that the Koreans have discovered the fountain of youth & they must uncover the secret to this poreless skin. They don't understand how Dark the Korean society is when it comes to this "Natural Glow" & the plastic surgeries/skin whitening/makeup involved. Again a very tiny minority, just very vocal with a SM(Especially Tik Tok) presence.

I would not say they are only there on Tik Tok.

I see videos on Korean skin care, make up, home remedies trending on YouTube, Instagram also. And their brands now launching or available to ship in India and FB ads recommending it.

I see newspapers and print edition of Indian magazines also talk of Korean food, remedies or hair and skin routine.

Something that I had not seen for any other nationality earlier except for brief obsession of Indians with Feng Shui in 2000s and Chinese food.

SSR bots are backed by a political party. I do not think one can compare them to BTS fans.

Or are you implying they are also probably politically backed IT cell bots?

I do not think even Indian channels interviewing K Pop idols is a fad. Korean stuff is not just on Twitter or Tik Tok.

I have seen Indian news channels also interviewing Korean stars. Why would they interview them if it was just some online hashtag or similar to SSR bots?
