Just yesterday you told me, about a new entry.

What if he is like srk from dear zindegi, a therapist kinda.

yeah i am guessing that. He will help khushi to love herself and in process fell in love with her....The epilogue might be the DML of this VD, we will know what all happened in Arshi's life after a point from his POV 😉

may be the second last chapter is khushi and VD's shaadi ka taiyyari and Arnav getting read to sing Channa mereya with aman and akash to help him. Arpita then will disappear for a month. We will fill threads assuming khushi is happy with VD, Arnav is mopping somewhere in himalayas or may be swiss alps this time and then arpita will throw curveball after a month and tell us the marriage didnt actually happen and arnav and khushi are in swiss alps skiing....whoosh, whoosh whoosh

Ok i have officially lost it 🤣

What can I possibly say about Khushi. Her selflessness doesn’t die even in the absolute bottom of hell. She spoke up without any intention to wound him. And when her words pierced his soul, she was the one who flinched.

I liked how you mentioned they both at times thought of holding the other one’s hand and stepped back for different reasons. This reaction told me just how wide of a gap has opened between them that a gesture as innocent as holding hands of a partner of ten years requires so much doubt.

Your understanding of psyche is so on point Arpita. In the middle of chaos Arnav thinking that if he could just hold her hand to provide her some warmth made me bawl my eyes out.

Yes, touch is a powerful language, I can’t stop imagining what if he didn’t hold himself back so many times and pulled her in his arms nonetheless. My mid can’t shake the picture what would have happened. Even if she wouldn’t forgive him, she would at least cry her heart out.

But I understand why you didn’t write that scene. This is not the Arnav of this story. He promised herself he wouldn’t try to even touch her hands anymore.

Our safe spaces don’t change that easily. They’re still it for each other and it shows in their smallest of gestures. A masterfully written chapter Arpita.

Coming to your Arnav. As someone who is not good with words, you nailed his character here in conflict. You have shown him as someone who was never good with words and I don’t expect him to be articulate especially in a situation as emotionally charges as this one. This is exactly how I would have behaved. Upon learning that she knew, and that I was wrong in all my assumptions, I would have said exactly how much your Arnav uttered. He needs an outlet. He needs therapy more than anyone else. Poor boy’s heart was never at the wrong place but he needs to fight his notions.

All and all, I will summarise my feelings for the whole chapter in one line.

Arnav may be a monster. But he isn’t beyond saving.

Here’s what I can feel of his condition 🌺

Saza aisi mili mujhko,

zakhm aise lage dil par

chupata to jigar jata,

sunata to bikhar jata…

(I received such a punishment,

wounds felt so deeply in my heart

If I concealed them, my soul would suffer;

if I revealed them, I would shatter.)

Arpi thank you for such beautiful words.

Arnav may be a monster. But he isn’t beyond saving.

You summed up your stand pretty well in a single sentence. I think it's rather a tough job to keep it all together and remember what all a character went through and just assume things based on a single chapter. It has been fascinating to me how polar opposite the reactions have been. This is the line I would most agree with. :)

Arnav is too late now..

I believe Khushi can move on given the right partner she absolutely deserves that..:

I imagined VD as Varun Dhawan.

I hope he is all that Khushi deserves.

I want a happy ending for this khushi..

Such people needs too be cherished given how scarce they are..

I even want Arnav to get his closure. I hope he mends way with his family, gets treated for his mental condition.

You are an amazing writer..

You have outdone yourself in this chapter..

Take a bow dear Arpita..

Thanks a lot!! ❤️❤️❤️

He still told her half stuff with again his guilt taking precedence!!! The way he told her that he was in rave party as if he was there to enjoy (I’m so mad at him) and lavanya is nearly death knell to a woman’s heart!!! At this point his treatment to her really unacceptable !!!! He still chose to tell her half truths his mind has conjured up using his guilt.

I can sympathise with khushi, can’t relate to her pain because I for one believe if you take sh*t you will end up getting more of it!!! She might be a good person to the world but created a real miserable life for herself . I might be the only person happy that her blindfold is gone, I hope she rises up now. At this point she feels she is cheated by everyone, good now she must learn to fight for herself. She can move on I don’t expect her to be understanding to Arnav’s mental health issues after what she went through in last year. I believe in her pain she has forgotten or looking at everything to be tainted . Hopefully someone will be able to convey to both of them about what lacked in their relationship and also how everything is not how they perceive it to be. But I would like khushi to finally grow a spine before she ventured into any relationship. No one (husband, parents , in-laws) is worth reverence other than the almighty!!!! You have to put yourself first because no one will .
Coming to Arnav, he in his ignorance and self pity topped with ever present guilt has lost something really precious, I just hope someone pushes him to a therapist at least now.

They both need help!!!!

Beautiful presentation of their emotions , well done Arpita!!!

Thank you so much Ari!!

I agree. They do need help. Khushi does need to rise up and Arnav needs to face his own mind that has led them here. ❤️❤️❤️

I would also like to add one thing. Khushi did not do all these things thinking she was making her life miserable. It wasn't like she was killing all her dreams for Arnav all these years despite being unhappy and she kept taking his shit. She did all this because she was happy. Because she didn't feel small doing it for a person who she believed in her own words 'Laid down the world at her feet'. Only after the betrayel these things sting which is natural :)

I had tears by the end of it. And I still stand by my belief.. It is not Arnav's cheating, which he may or may not have committed that is as important as his behaviour towards Khushi....

I understand there might be things in his past due to which he went through a trauma and couldn't bring himself to father a child.

What angers me is the fact that he has never treated his wife as an equal partner.

He has always had his opinions regarding things, how about finding his wife's opinions on those matters too?

He couldn't share his inner demons with her, okay, fair enough... But is that all that was there? His wife was with him in all his low times, when she made budgets to run his house in his limited income, when she was trying to hold together the bridge within the family, when she was making his house a home.

And now he is flourishing and he decided that Khushi can have a better life without him.

My problem is... He decided. Only him. Even with his past traumas (if there is), his pains and everything, he was the only one making decisions fot the two of them. She wasnt involved in his work, in his life... She wasnt involved in her life's decision too.

Thank you shveta. ❤️

The things you have pointed out are the exact things which are hurting Khushi. Its one thing to do all this in love but all memories get tainted after you feel betrayed. Khushi's reaction and hurt are natural and justified. And yes, Arnav still couldnt come clean completely,Man is just too poor with words :)

It has taken me many hours after my read to even try to process what I felt after reading this other than just sheer, blinding, hopelessness. Because, what do you even say after this update? Anything I say, anything anyone says does not justify what that poor soul went through. Forget justify, it does not even begin to understand what she went through.

I said this a couple of times in my comments before, that I was looking forward to this confrontation, to know where they go from here, but I am not sure what exactly was I thinking looking forward to this. Because, where do they even go from here? Is there anything that Arnav can say or do that even begins to scab over the hurt he has given Khushi? Is there any scope of Arnav ever getting over what he has done to his life and his marriage? I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel anymore and I was so sure I would be able to see it when I read this part of the story and probably that's why this one hurts more than anything else. Because this one, this one took away my hope.

All this while, we were reading Arnav's point of view and trying to understand why he did what he did, knowing how much this actions have hurt Khushi. If there were any words to prove that knowing about Khushi's pain and feeling her pain are two different things, these are the words. And god, have they spoken. What more? They are from Arnav's point of view as he sees and witnesses what he put his wife through first hand. It is here, we see a man who had been living in head for so long, understand the gravity of what he did. Of how what he absolutely thought was true, was not just a massive error in judgement, but gross disrespect of his partner.

Love is such a cheap word in front of the respect you owe your partner.

Wish I could say more, but I don't have the words, let alone the right ones.

Akanksha, as usual, it comes naturally to you when you sit down and explain what you felt ❤️

This confrontation was never going to be easy. No matter which way and when we would have arrived at this point. This was the real band aid that needed ripping. I know for you guys it was Arnav's chapter. But this was equally hard to write.

Thanks for pointing out that we are witnessing Khushi's hurt from Arnav's eyes. ❤️❤️

If we are feeling moved by what all Khushi has gone through, its because in this chapter Arnav has felt those things and translated them into words for us. The chapter may have been Khushi's but this is Arnav's purgatory :)

Arpita you have the gift of gab. All the pity that I had for Arnav in those flashback chapters, just washed away. Every time, a chapter features Khushi, I am just blown away by her resilience, her selflessness, and her magnanimity. How could someone be so hurt by someone and yet have compassion for that same person?

When she was staring at that beautiful photo of the 2 of them together, for I second I thought that she would smash that photo but even then she didn't.

And she has asked some really hard-hitting questions. As I had mentioned before, Arnav had already made up his mind about divorcing Khushi because somewhere he felt like he did not love her anymore. How he could ignore Khushi for an entire year screams selfishness beyond reason.

For someone who is such an astute business, he surely is dumb when it comes to family.

At this point, the only thing I find admirable in him, just as Khushi does, is his sense of responsibility. Though it's selfish and misdirected, he is a responsible man. A selfish responsible man. And one cannot deny that all these years he has taken Khushi's love for him, for granted.

I can understand, Khushi being hurt by Aman's silence but after all Aman is an employee. His loyalties will lie with Arnav with whom he has worked for so long. But I still feel like he tried to do right by her by getting to the bottom of the fiasco and trying to find something that might mend his "sister's" relationship.

Oh! and my only source of happiness is the introduction of 2 new characters. My dramatic ass is hoping that the brother-sister duo will meet Khushi and make her strong. Now I don't know if this hints at a relationship between VD and Khushi but if it does, I would probably be happy.

Rhea’s smile widened as she spoke “Then let’s pray this is the year you find your happiness”

VD also does say that exes can be friends; maybe hinting that Arnav and Khushi can remain friends after separation.

"What kind of lunatics remain friends with their exes?" she quipped, playfully teasing him.

"The kinds who are sensible enough," he retorted with a chuckle.

I might be reading too much. But Arnav really needs to fix something. God knows how many taunts Khushi must have been subjected to throughout those trips to Lucknow. Being labeled as "gawar" and "infertile", and never uttering a word about it to anyone. I am surprised that even Arnav's mother never told Arnav about Khushi being taunted if it did happen in their hometown in her presence. I want to give her the benefit of doubt and not label her as selfish to have Khushi come and be her source of connection to her son.

Seriously Arpita, you blow me away every single time. I was desperately waiting for this moment of truth, but you have outshined every single imagination of mine.

Khushi true to her character, was selfless, patient, and self-punishing while Arnav let her mind reign over his heart again. Maybe Arnav was right be honest and let his mind rule during this but still I wanted to see him on knees for once. But that's Arnav, the responsible man.

Thanks so much Aashi ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

I think when it comes to Raizada family, all of them know just how much they owe Khushi. As Ratna pointed out, both men had locked horns in their anger while Khushi refused to give up on either of them. Ratna is not delusional. She tells Arnav that Khushi did not need to be here but she was because she truly believes despite what he says, Arnav misses his family.

And he has already admitted that it was true. He did miss his family enough to be selfish and hope they can come see him in Mumbai once before he is deserted by all of them forever for cheating on Khushi. He keeps the kitchen afloat that he hates and is still doing things for his parents but both men weren't ready to give up their position. This was all Khushi and her foresight to keep things from totally disintegrating.

Does it even matter they went all the way then, this is violation of his basic human rights.

I know Arpita says they did do the deed, but I still want to keep my hopes up till lunatics chapter is up.

Arpita please end this torture yar, let us know the full truth of what happened that night.

Tashi, i have a question-

Here arnav clearly says that she was beneath him, that means he was doing the deed and was also an active participant along with her. Does that make it a ra*e?

I mean in case of woman, the man does the deed forcefully so it is more clear, that yes it is a ra*e. But here?

I am just trying to understand.

And i also believe he was drugged and that is why i said in my comment if lunatic put him through viagra or something of that sort than the story changes and his body not listening to his mind situation is acceptable because obviously. But if not, then it turns out to be cheating by definition i guess.

In his dml, be it in the party itself or be it him narrating it to akash what i got was, he understood it was not khushi initially, like just during the kiss and then he wasn't in a position to understand who and what. But now when he says he understood it wasn't khushi even afterwards, it changes the narrative completely.
