That’s so true what can one do with looks when everything else is absolutely miserable and unbearable. I never understood that trope - watched a Pakistani series where the guy kidnapped a girl and forcefully married her, almost kept her captive in his house and basically it was a horrible existence and everyone was angry at the girl for not respecting how much the man loved her and how good looking he was. That was my last time watching anything like that. I know it’s fiction but ML character matters. That’s why kudos to the writers here for keeping that essence.

Let’s hope we see MA relationship too but theirs is a love marriage as Tara said initially that they were in love and would like to marry. I am not sure with this new entrant how it will play out but looking forward to it.

Yes to making DT even stronger and better together. What’s filmcity? Sorry I don’t know what that is but if you say it means 21st century then yayyy!

I don’t look for logic per se but some rationality is needed and here apart from the curse and sword going in the body and dying bit - rest I can let go. Let’s see what has peeved of that sage this time. Why is he still alive? He looks 100 years old shouldn’t he be sitting in some retirement home and playing bingo instead of curse curse!!!

It is love marriage for MaYa but Different from DT . they didn't need to face much compare to DT ..

and we haven't seen anything

that's why I compared it with one kind of arrange marriage where Couple liked eachother & elders approved it and their Real struggle start after marriage or engagement..

What’s filmcity?

I don't know much ..

All I know is it's Set or location used for shooting.

For 17th century they used Another Location..

And if I'm not wrong for 21st century they used Film city.

now They are back to film city ..

Sorry I don’t know what that is but if you say it means 21st century then yayyy!

Yeah me too I watched some nice PTV shows but then they have cringe ones too. Their actors mostly get repeated a lot so you can see your pairs in many shows.

That makes sense and in that case yes it is like couple liked each other and marriage was arranged. I don’t understand the arrange marriage concept either lol that’s why my bafflement. Even my Dadi - Dadu and Nani - Nanu married for love. My mumma told my brother that if he can’t find a girl to date then maybe being single is best thing for him 😂😂😂😂 she isn’t going to find anything for him 😂😂 when he one day told her that isn’t she worried he is still single.

But i understand it’s different in India. Oh so filmcity is a set? Is that in Mumbai? If you are right then great we will see this era drama now. They can do parallel stories?

Bold 1- this was my chief grouse with PTV shows. I watch a show, like it, and kinda associate Actor X with Character Y.

It's a time bound series, so you finish watching soon, but when you switch to another serial, you again see actor X, but this time as Character Z, and it kinda becomes difficult as a viewer to adjust to a character switch so soon- you don't quite connect with it.

Bold 2- 90% of Hindi ITV shows (I'd probably say 99% actually) are shot in Mumbai and its surrounding areas. There are rare exceptions (Dreamiyata for example- they're shooting Udaariyaan completely in Punjab, and made the Mumbai based actors switch base there)

The 17th century DT set is in Naigaon, a place on the outskirts of Mumbai (like really on the outskirts). Most historical/jungle type scenes get shot there. The 21st century one is in Film City I think- it's is in the suburbs of the city, but many film and TV folks live in the suburbs, so it's pretty accessible. Another popular one is Chandivali, and most of the bungalow type sets will usually be in Madh or similar areas (normal folks don't live in bungalows in this city 😃)

Yes I agree there with you and that’s why I wait until the show ends before I watch it. Good thing about their shows are they are finite so after 30-40 episodes they end. Sone I really liked and some I wished I had never watched. One show started out so well and then the FL cried so much it was depressing and ML from a good guy became typical who would find fault even if the FL took a breath.

My in laws are from Mumbai but I have never been there. That’s where the movie industry is right? So television series are shot there too? Do they have many such studios or you have your two three that gets monopoly.

It's mostly 3-4 that have a relative monopoly (land isn't cheap in Mumbai) so if there's something being shot on ITV, it's most likely to be in one of those locations.

Like when they showed DT in the 17th century, my first guess for that set location was Naigaon, which Krishna later confirmed in an interview.

Mumbai is also where most of Bollywood is, yes.

That's similar to Hollywood where you have 2-3 high end studios where most movies get shot. I know Yash Chopra and Karan Johar are big production houses but from ITV perspective I don't have much knowledge.

How far is Naigaon from Mumbai city? that must be a long commute? Hats off to the dedication of the team in that case. I don't travel if the route is more than 30minutes by car lol - I hate commute so I appreciate when some travel a long distance daily for job purposes.

It depends on where you live, but most actors tend to live in the suburbs, so I'd say it would be a 1.5-2 hour journey one-way by car. Could probably become 3 on bad days (with rain), and there are plenty of rainy days in Mumbai currently.

You could reduce the time significantly if you used public transport (like a train), but they tend to be quite crowded (not to mention the potential class stigma among colleagues and the risk of getting mobbed), so very few actors would use it.
