Segment #11

The house of the Telecom Minister, Manohar Gaikwad was practically a palace. The rest of Mumbai seemed like a nightmare every time Ishaan stepped into the house.

He stood with a notepad in his hand as Aarav was bench pressing, reading the latter's schedule for the day. The 28-year-old was apparently the upcoming future of youth and Maharastra, but in Ishaan's personal opinion, he was nothing but a rich spoilt brat who was one snort of cocaine away from being overdosed.

"Did Ramya's manager confirm that she is coming to the party? Bro, she has to be there! Imagine the two youth icons, one from politics and one from Bollywood partying together. Page 3 would have a blast."

Ishaan gave a non-committal nod, wondering if he didn't hear the irony in his own words. A youth icon partying was a good news for the nation with a crumbling economy and facing job losses?

"You can go now, Mr PA!" Sarah smirked as Ishaan almost winced, trying to control his anger. He hated that guy!

As he walked out to the door, he heard a familiar voice coming from one of the rooms and stopped. He lingered on till a man stepped out and saluted as soon as he saw the DCP.

"You'll blow your cover." Ravi Yadav scolded his subordinate.

"Sorry sir, force of habit," Ishaan answered as he relaxed.

"Any progress with Gaurav's shooter, sir?"

Ravi nodded as he started walking.

"That's what I wanted to talk to you about. We got a few CCTV footages, she knew what she was doing. But there was one footage of her, she seemed athletic, because she ran very fast."

"Ayesha?"

"No, Ayesha is about 5'8. This one is shorter, 5'6, perhaps.Do you think you have seen someone like that around Ayesha? I can't give you anything more because she wore a helmet and the bike was stolen." Ishaan shook his head.

"Keep an eye. The Narcotics Department too is getting good results from raids, but the problem is they are small-time peddlers and don't have any big names to give."

Ishaan sighed. Why couldn't there be a small, good breakthrough in the case?

"Also, this PI, is he any good? Is he worth the risk?"

"Yes sir. He helped me with the Juneja connection and also, he had worked with Gaurav in the Shyamlal Jewellery burglary case. He is good."

"I trust your instincts. Good luck, officer." Ishaan couldn't help but smile.

"I am sure you miss it," Ravi said as he looked over Ishaan's shoulder. Ishaan turned to see Aarav walk towards him.

"Sometimes, but being called Mr PA is the highlight of my career."

Ravi barked a laugh.

"What's so funny, Ravi uncle?" Sarah asked and Ravi shook his head.

"I hope your narcotics department is staying away from my parties." Aarav smiled viciously and Ishaan almost face-palmed. Some icon! He couldn't even hide the fact that he was having a party that would have drugs at the venue.

Ravi nodded and left.

Darshan reached his office. He expected Nushrat to be there, but instead a woman sat on her chair, with a grim expression.

"So, why werre you in the same room as Alex when he was shot?" Ayesha asked, not waiting for a second.
