Looking at this thread, I realize that our house is a real nostalgia treasure chest with things modern hundred years ago, long used, passed on to the next generation and kept again for the next...and next...
We still have (and use) something like these:
(one in the wintergarden, one in the basement - heating with logs)

(in the basement - where we have a kind of home-atelier - good sound!)

(gimlet...perfect as a helping tool)
(self-explaining)

used not only to see the weight of letters 😉
we call it "flotte Lotte" (`= fast Lotty) and use it as fruit mill
Well, I easily could spam this thread with more (no, won't do it 😆) as all these things bind us (and the kids) to our past... I find it gorgeous to know that we will use them also in future (as long as possible)...so time becomes quite relative...
