Looking at this thread, I realize that our house is a real nostalgia treasure chest with things modern hundred years ago, long used, passed on to the next generation and kept again for the next...and next...

We still have (and use) something like these:

Küchenherd ARNOLD antik(one in the wintergarden, one in the basement - heating with logs)

100 Jahre Radio in Deutschland | Onetz

(in the basement - where we have a kind of home-atelier - good sound!)

Naturmaterial | Bastelmaterialien | Kreativbereich | AUREDNIK GmbH. Alles für Krippe, Kita, Hort und Schule!

(gimlet...perfect as a helping tool)

DDR Spielzeug, Laubsäge Werkzeug, Ostalgie, Rar, Alt in Sachsen - Wilkau-Haßlau | Weitere Spielzeug günstig kaufen, gebraucht oder neu | eBay Kleinanzeigen wird Kleinanzeigen

(self-explaining)

Antike Briefwaage | 500g | vintage | Mon Ami(e) Vintage

used not only to see the weight of letters 😉

we call it "flotte Lotte" (`= fast Lotty) and use it as fruit mill

Well, I easily could spam this thread with more (no, won't do it 😆) as all these things bind us (and the kids) to our past... I find it gorgeous to know that we will use them also in future (as long as possible)...so time becomes quite relative...

Same, we had games parlors, that used to look pretty shady (like shown in Ghulam movie if my memory serves right).

Ha ha good remembrance . We too had it here but my locality was quite safe . My mum was quite strict though and never handed me money for such stuffs . So it was super tantalizing back then .

I used to love playing with bhavra (spinning tops).

Allow me to throw away humility for a while and do a little show off 😎 - I was able to do 'hath jaali' - meaning throw the top in the air, make it land on the palm of your hand, without even touching the ground, and of course keep it spinning all the while. It was only possible with the smaller bhavras

Langdi - has anyone here played this game? It's slightly similar to kabaddi, but you are allowed to only move (basically hop) on one leg.

I'm right handed, but unlike my most right handed friends (who used right legs), I would always skip using my left leg.

Yes I know of this game though never played . I was most passionate about Cricket back then . Was captain of my school 'house' team comprising mostly of langrey ghodey & yet we often made it through finals !
