So glad the TB is over and feels great to not have to actively think about the show anymore.

Suddenly all the stress is gone!

I read some posts in the previous AT where some people have expressed that after the last episode they are certain there was MR. My apologies for bringing the topic of MR again, but I came across a comment under SH's last epi review video that I thought to share it here, it presents a compelling argument against the possibility of MR. Not sure if it by our IF user hypnotoad but it brings so much clarity into the whole thing.

I myself have never believed Murtasim was capable of it. He had a tough exterior, but was a kind, gentle soul who loved Meerab dearly and no way could have gone through with something like this. Meerab slapped, spitted on him, taunted him with the contract, pushed all his buttons and yes, Murtasim did get insanely angry but he could not have carried that anger for several minutes, though the whole ordeal while Meerab could be kicking, screaming and crying! He was not an insensitive monster that would have been okay inflicting pain on his love for several minutes.

In my mind, behind the closed door, he may have tried to demonstrate to her how easy it was for him to break the contract by forcefully kissing her or hugging her but then both got carried away, could not control it participating equally.

In this scenario also, Meerab could be feeling broken because the one thing that she was guarding fiercely against this marriage was gone and her ana/ego would not let her accept the fact that ultimately, by her giving into her desire she indirectly accepted this marriage and the man, that she was no longer capable of that hate that kept her going earlier, she lost control of her life again.
And this can also explain Murtasim's guilt right afterwards and tod-phod because in his anger, he started this chain reaction which they both could not control and ended up breaking the contract without Meerab actually explicitly doing it herself.

This also explains Murtasim's lack of guilt during their separation but also him asking for forgiveness at the end since he was the one that started it.

Rape is not an act of impulse. It is not a `snap' decision. For Murtasim to rape Merub, he would have had to hold her down while she physically struggled and fought back. He would have had to strip her clothes off her body while he held her down. She was a virgin and her body would not have been prepared for penetration. Penetration would have taken Murtasim multiple tries as would have any further thrusts. All this while, Merub would have cried and pleaded but Murtasim would have ignored her. She would have felt physical hurt while this was going on but Murtasim would have chosen to continue inflicting pain on her.

All in all, the process of rape would have taken Murtasim 15-20 minutes at minimum. From Haya, we know the door was closed for 2 hours. A process which takes 15-20 minutes at least is not an act of impulse - like firing a gun or slapping someone. For those 15-20, Murtasim would have made a series of micro-decisions to continue with the rape and how to effectively optimize his actions in response to Merub's reactions. He could have stopped any time, he could have listened to Merub's cries and pleas - but he chose to proceed with raping her. If rape is something you do in anger or when you snap to har ghar har mohalle har rishte mein har roz rape ho.

Someone who slaps another person is not automatically capable of rape - the perpetrator psychology is completely different. Even OG Murtasim was not capable of rape. This is not the type of anger that old Murtasim displayed. He was entitled but was no Peeral/Meeral - in E1, he fought with Maliks for the izzat of a poor farmer's daughter. Old Murtasim also showed a lot of empathy when he held out his hand to Merub when Wakas left or in the dargah, the man who said mujhe dard hota hai when Merub cries. Old Murtasim -before Merub's love changed him - did not have the character traits that lends to him being a rapist.

I mean give this guy break, he just gave one of biggest hit dramas, at one point people say he is overexposing himself by signing too many advertisments, dramas n being active on social media but on contrary, criticizing him for being exclusive. I also sense lot of envy, jealousy maybe from fandoms of others actors or their PRs in general. Wahaj may not have great script sense but atleast give guy credit where it is due, they are already predicting his fall , it's so toxic , more like some are irked how wahaj got such success.

Reddit is weird and selective at what they choose to hold on to. I don’t know where they sense any arrogance because he doesn’t seem like it at least from what others say about him and how he comes across in interviews and fan encounters. Of course I don’t know what he’s really like but there isn’t anything we can see that can lead anyone to think he’s arrogant. I think he’s popular at the moment so they feel the need to put him down. They used to support Yumna but she’s getting hate in there too now. They just enjoy hating I guess.

I have only 1 regret , today when I watched the last episode again , after Anwar comes and hug meerab , and asks her where were u , immediately BH jumps to say Rohail, infact Saba is the first person who responds to Bh saying she did not go with Rohail.

why did not MK respond before Saba? , infact Saba clearly told him with all proofs , then why he allowed BH to say those. Infact he kept quiet and also was not knowing who the child was , and after MB asked who baby is, and from Meerab mouth he hears the words he is sure.

Moreover when Saba told truth about Rohail why MK did not say to MB , they they were falsely accusing a women to run away with a man .

MK who loves meerab to death , but sadly doesn’t know how to blindly believe her more than anything.

MK was roaring later she is my biwi , but u should roar when someone is falsely accusing someone.

Meerab is more stronger than MK . Let MK say sorry to meerab , n times I am okay .

I love both these , but MK this trait always stings my heart. Even after 2 years when u came to know she is not with Rohail, even if some person says how can u keep quiet when u know truth .

It is Meerab love for MK which she is making her forgive MK, she is accepting him with all his failures.

Thanks for this - expressed my feelings about how rape is violent. If one imagines it, she would have been yelling screaming and begging him to stop and saying no. Especially because they were already in a heated argument.
Rape by definition is violence. That in no way shape or form changes because of one’s marriage status. It means, at no point in the continuum of affairs did the victim consent, not even in the very last second. I don’t believe this is how it went down - she was raped and yet she was immediately feeling guilty about her role in the rape?! No - maybe another submissive girl, but not Meerab. Meerab would have spit on him and if not angry because of the shock, she would have looked disgusted and sickened type of an anger.
I really still believe she felt guilty that they got into more heated arguments and in that heated environment, she initiated it. After creating the contract and holding it above his head, she felt ashamed for being the one to metaphorically rip it up. It hurt her pride, her ego, and since that was what she was running on at that point…she didn’t know how to deal with that being torn. And she was shown to be stubborn throughout… so if she said that she would leave him if the contract was broken, she would definitely leave. I saw that from the beginning episodes. That would make her pining away for him make sense.

Why do I think she initiated? Well first off, he said that in his inner monologue during the mirror scene. Even if he didn’t say that, the show had been building up to this exact situation. They had been showing Meerab finding him very attractive in recent episodes, and her jealousy building through her explosive angry reactions after the night out scenes etc. And what really hinted at it for me - the scene where she started roughly rummaging theough his pockets to find the note that the kid gave him. That was very unlike Meerab; she had never been so physically forward with him, invading his space like that. But that had been building too - grabbing his collar, grabbing his shawl. I remember thinking wow, she’s so close to him…the halal version of being up in his face. I feel that was a lead up to showing her physical forwardness growing and eventually bubbling over in the heated passion.
I think that’s why Nooran thought that we’d find it amusing… because the girl who spent all 40 + episodes hating this guy or at least carrying proudly the contract on her head…suddenly just broke it herself because she couldn’t resist this guy. Unfortunately for Nooran, the editors and director royally f’ed up that scene sequence and thought it would be thrilling to dangle the MR angle for interest. I think they didn’t expect the backlash at all… so they added the dumb voiceovers to try and make it clear that she wasn’t raped.

. . In bold … that’s true . In red… he was too stunned for a moment … later he spoke na and he is the one who quietened Haya .

When there was this post on our previous DT that Meerab will fall harder in love , I used to think it’s impossible for her to love Murtsaum as much as he loves her but the second last and the last episode proved me wrong . The Meerab who came back to Murtsaum was no where near the old Meerab

. . If that was the case then why did NM not explain/say this in the interview with Aamna , instead she categorically said that she does not want to talk about epi 46-47 …ask anything but that . This would have been the best answer and it wouldn’t come out as a vulgar one at the same time absolve them of all the backlash ?

This family gives Justice to all the people in their village.

If someone falsely accuses someone, that too ur own wife you will show some reaction.

He could be stunned, but he also had questions regarding baby . That’s my guess ,and after hearing from Meerab it’s yours, his reaction came.

Meerab always suprises MK, making him feel ashamed.

I love MK , but to tell the truth he spoiled Meerab kirdhar.

Here Both love each other, but it’s meerab love who is ready to forgive MK .

I didn’t see the interview but I read that she did say it wasn’t rape and that it was consensual.
