sorry dear. Just used to call them that. Besides they’re all gone 😭

TML was ‘the magical love’. It was an ancient story between royals and commoners in a make believe kingdom I guess. and obviously our leads belonged to these two different sects. There were mentions of magic in a couple of chapters but it wasn’t established if there was actual anything supernatural or if people were just superstitious. I wanted to read that so badly 😣

DCT was a dream come true. College sweethearts are broken up due to a misunderstanding and then things just unravel to a point where it was too late to do anything.

Ranjeeti is one hell of a movie. To take on a plot as epic as Mahabharata and then implement it in a modern setting this way was an absolute brilliant masterclass on filmmaking and screenwriting.

Also yes, Mahabharata is beyond brilliant. There are several twists and tales which are often left out of the depiction of the epic everywhere and nothing except the text could do justice to it. There are layers after layers to characters and plots. Even if you read it as just a book, Mahabharata will leave you astounded.

I know people are always like old is gold and we like the old version of things. But star plus Mahabharata was the closest thing to make you feel what the text makes you feel if you’ve been lucky enough to read it ❤️

I LOVE YOU FOR SAYING THIS ARPITA❤❤❤❤

OH MY GAWWWWWWD what a show!

What Siddhart Kumar Tewary envisioned and made is just phenomenal. I mean everything just everything, the sound tracks, the bgm-s, the characters, the actors chosen for each character, the dialogues, the scenes, the vfx, everything was just on point.

Saurabh Raj Jain was born to play Krishnaaa (Uffffffff)

and Draupadi, Puja Sharma have superlatively nailed the character and especially the "cheer-haran" scene. It made me feel like i have gone back in time to Dwapar yug and was sitting in that "Sabhaa" watching the whole thing with my naked eyes.

The whole series was JUST BRILLIANT, truely as close as it can be to the real one.

Isha… even I don’t remember the plots that well now 😂😂😂😂

TML was gone from my head. This is like having a core memory unearthed suddenly. Thank you 🙏

they NAILED the casting game. Shaheer Puja and sourabh were my favs. I think shaheer also took the show to Indonesia where it was a massive success 😍

And the music!!! I still get goosebumps the moment ‘hai katha sangram ki’ comes up!

My next story (which is still very hazy, I don’t have the whole plot developed) in my mind, was set up in an alternate yet normal world. A setting far away in mysterious mountains and a clash between practicality of the guy vs spirituality of the girl. I find myself working on the plot some days but it feels just so complex to come to the point I want to make in that story. Which is basically nothing. I just want to write tales. Like resurgence is just a story. Things are happening. I don’t have an agenda or a motive behind it. I don’t want to make a point. That makes it a little tough to write.

The story I just mentioned may be similar to political stories since the main point of it would be a power struggle between money and spirituality. But I don’t find myself capable of writing an actual political story with Arshi. I think it’ll require too much research on my end first to understand the political landscape of the country which I frankly have only limited knowledge of.

Let’s see if I have any strength left after resurgence 😂

you better write this story Appy di. I am already intrigued a lot. A mysterious place and a power struggle. Looks like my TML dreams are about to come true 😚

Yes shaheer was also so good. That scene when draupadi was dragged to the court by Dushashan, and she lifts her eyes to look at her husbands, there was a shot just between draupadi and shaheer, just their eyes.My goodness.

Also the chemistry between these two got sparks flying.

You are so correct about the marriage scene Ashvi, how beautifully Krishna made her understand, the symbolisms- the churamani with five stones and how when she threw it after cheer-haran, the stones fell in front of the rest of the husbands, but the whole thing together fell in front of Arjun...as he was the one who own her swayamvar, also her heart. (the maker was also may be Ar-Di shipper like me)

i can imagine resurgence taking a toll on you. so after the story is over take a break but this plot you mentioned seems tailor made for you to write

so give it a try after couple of months once resurgence is over

yes i loved arjun druapadi pairing and i honestly feel draupadi was given a raw deal. even when arjun comes back with subhadra..i was feeling sooooo sad for draupadi. shaheer and puja were perfect. now i cant imagine any arjun draupadi than them

I think this was also mentioned in Mahabharata itself. Draupadi was denied heaven with her physical body because ideally she should’ve been impartial towards all her husbands. But she loved Arjun a bit more. Makes sense since he was the one who won the swayamvar

Yes everyone was denied except Yudhistir, one character that I am unable to like.

I find Bishma the most tragic character in the whole epic. A lifetime of sacrifice, every other character got some sort of happiness in life, materialistic or non-materialistic, in form of power, or partner or children, something except this one character, who lived all his life like a "tapasaya" to know and listen at the end that it was all of no use, that his whole idea of "Dharma" was wrong. Tragic.

Ps- Tell me to stop arpita, i am an addict of Mahabharat discussions, i can go on for life and this is not the place.
