The BCCI on Wednesday announced the T20 squad for the upcoming 5-match West Indies series, with Mumbai Indians batter Tilak Varma getting his maiden call up in the Indian team.

Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi also made comeback into the team, which will be led by captain Hardik Pandya with Suryakumar Yadav in as his deputy. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, however, have not been included in the squad.

Varma has been a notable member of the Mumbai Indians side for the past two seasons and with a strike-rate of 142-plus in 47 games, batting at No 5 has obviously attracted the national selection panel’s, led by Ajit Agarkar, attention.

There are 3 newcomers in the India's Test squad - Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Mukesh Kumar, while long time No. 3 Pujara has been dropped. Pace bowler Shami is rested and Navdeep Saini comes in place of Umesh Yadav.

Bhai the worst thing about cricket discourse everywhere is ex-cricketers earning a quick buck from useless opinions. Retired players, especially rich Indian players, should emulate Dhoni.

Akash Chopra's own international average was so laughable, he should just stick to ott match commentary.

Kohli needs to improve his test average for sure because then the cricket pundits can stop having warped views about the stability he provides to India's batting line-up
