I was very surprised at the luke warm response to chand taara since both him and his wife individually are hugely popular actors but together it just never generated the buzz.
True! Off late Danish's selection of shows has been very hero centric. Add to that, if it's a toxic show or regresssive in it's content, established actresses will rather utilise their choice to not do it and pick something else instead. These roles are best suited for newbies or actresses who are looking to broaden their audience base since these shows tend to cater to the masses. Dur e Fishan said the exact same thing on being asked why she chose to do KTK. She admitted that a lot came on her plate because of her association with a Danish Starrer, which was what she was hoping for. Her Instagram blew up, she was doing some of the biggest fashion campaigns and now the producers give her the choice of 10 scripts, all of which was missing earlier. Even in Hiba Bhukhari's case she became a mainstream actress post Deewangi.
Another aspect is that Danish doesn't network and socialise and stays away from the industry camps altogether. He has only been maintaining professional relationships with the industry insiders. He picks scripts and characters from the lot that he gets offered and tries making something big out of it. I guess, He would rather choose to be like that instead of ass kissing anyone, 😆 and this probably also doesn't go down well with industry biggies and hence they too don't particularly prioritise to approach him for their big projects, which usually the established lot of actresses would prefer to be a part of.

Chand Tara's biggest issue was Saima Akram Chaudhary's writing. She couldn't decide if she was making a message oriented show or a entertainer. The balance was heavily missing. As a result, it mostly either came across as preachy or OTT. Danish Nawaz, the director, just like Saima needs to go on a break. His direction has been lacking big time. It was the same issue with Kala Doriya as well. The only two good things about Chand Tara was how refreshing was Sarim's positive character on Danish, He has a great comic timing, And the second good thing was Danish and Ayeza's chemistry. It was very organic and for once a married couple looked and behaved married for the obvious reasons. 😆 Chand Tara is one of those projects where you can swipe it with other similar popular actors and the result would be the same because the very foundation in the form of writing was very weak. Something similar to the case of Meri Shehzadi and MPHT. Farhan's entry couldn't save the former and highly trending social media sensations like Hania and Wahaj too couldn't do much with the latter. I think actors can only do as much in such projects. They can make a project huge only if they are given the right formulae or ingredients to play with.
