He's probably watched D & T do it several times, so used it mockingly for Dhruv in yesterday's episode. He even adds "Shubh ho" after the thumbs up.

If he wasn't a guy who had such less regard for human life and was a little less Machiavellian, Senapati could've been a very interesting grey character. So far, given the limitations of ITV characterisations, he's probably as good as a grey character goes, but they will obviously make him fully black, with talk of revenge on the princess and everything.

Watch his interaction with Mahavir in yesterday's episode- if you didn't know he was unscrupulous and didn't have ethics, his reasoning otherwise was pretty clear. He speaks respectfully to the prince, speaks of the D-T issue, and says his only reason to kidnap is to get Dhruv to go.

If this was an EK show, I'm pretty sure they would've brought a sister for Senapati, and shown her to fall for Dhruv 😛

Isliye Senapati Tara ko knife se Dara ke Bhaiji se kahega Dhruv ko maarne ke liye (BTS me Tara ki neck pe cut tha), par vo fake death hogi. (Bhaiji and Dhruv's plan, maybe Maharani bhi involved ho).

True, maybe his kaal sena or trusted soldiers are doing that for him.

He wants power, that he can get by marrying Tara, moreover his ego is hurt as Tara loves Dhruv and if Maharaj had agreed for DT marriage, Senapati would have lost everything.

He wants Dhruv to go because he is making it difficult for him to execute his plans and creating a good image in front of them. After marrying Tara and Maharaj death he can easily plot to kill Bhaiji and get the throne.

@bold: Agreed! ITV can't present grey characters well, either its back or white.

The editing team is not good at editing romantic scenes. Emotional scenes are well presented but they are continuously cutting the romantic scenes that too with bad editing, transition looks odd.
