I dont think singers and music directors have rights over their own creation. It's all with the music labels. That's why most of ar Rahman's iconic 90s early 2000 sings were remade by the kakkads who are not even worth of standing in the same room as ARR. Arr is like one of the calmest and non controversial celebrity in India and he got frustrated and spoke out against butchering his songs.
