One theory from my side ,

Dhruv and Tara are actually lovers from past life , they married without Tara's family's consent . Her father was a great priest .

He gave them curse , that they will be never be together and will be born in diff eras so that they can never unite .

But sometimes later by seeing their love for each other , he melts and give a solution, that if with kanha Ji's support they are able to meet , then they will get a chance to remove the curse . They will have to give some test to prove their love . And if they paas the curse will be removed. Or else the attempt to change the time will cause their death .

The time machine is actually built by DhaRa with priest devotional power so they can turn the time when they needed. It's a actually a portal made for Dhruv and Tara's era (whenever they will born ).
