From what I read in this thread about this PH's other shows, I have a feeling the creative team consists of some most regressive male chauvinist people on the earth. Why do they think the female lead has to be deprived of employment in the name of Family ka izzat & all and why the FL fighting for her right to earn her own money is such a big ordeal that they have to ghusao it in every show? Agar yehi dikhana hai toh kamse kam develope the characters that way? Rural areas me, un/half educated / conservative families me ye dikhaye toh samajh ata hai. But who the hell in such a high class society, in such a "modern" and highly educated family opposes to their women working? In urban areas, among educated families in fact, working women are a kind of status symbol now. Housewives are made to feel inferior, indirectly shamed for being good for nothing. Sabko aajkal working woman biwi/bahu hi chahiye hota hai. In which cave & under which rock do these Brars live?
Even in GC they never opposed to Khori working. Khori had set up her own workshop in her storeroom and used to keep exhibitions of her handicrafts right inside Singharoy house's garden. Dadu Thammi (Daarji Bebe) used to whole heartedly encourage her, Manjira and Madhuja (Manveer & Gurleen) used to support her and their friends used to praise Khori's art and put in big bulk orders. Yahan toh Brars ke bass chale toh Sahiba ko working ki W bhi sochne tak na de 🤔
Arre yaar, har Bengali show ka kabaada kar chodte hai ye log. Bloody, I would rather watch GC from the beginning than watch this shit. Their Daadu always thought that "Khori ma" would always have solutions to problems. She is capable of anything - from saving Riddhiman's exhibition to saving him. She played an active role as the jewelry designer for Singha Roys and saved them from competitors, enemies, and whatnot. In fact, she did her first successful exhibition at the Singha Roy garden, where Riddhiman draped her saree.
The character of "Khori" was strong and self-sufficient. She was resourceful, industrious, and hell-stubborn for a woman with limited means and resources. She preserved the legacy of their jewelry business. The only thing I disliked was that they were against "divorce." I mean, all the 3-couples were never married in ideal situations, and all three sisters suffered a lot of humiliation at their in-laws. But still, I can't believe a Bengali show has a more progressive sense and cohesive thinking put into the script. No wonder it topped TRP every time on Star Jalsha.
And here we have, "ek pair kabr pe" wale Daarji with a huge stick, thinking he is bloody God, is bothered why his "Badi Bahu" is not happy being dolled up at home and be "adarsh nari". Are these people for real? What is wrong with Hindi shows, man?
