I think MB slaps Murtasim for trying the ploy of a jhoothi engagement to have meerab back, thereby ruining their reputation, this might make meerasim leaving the house and MB might get them after anwar chacha persuasion.

MK did threathen twice that he'll leave. Khandaan usse hai, woh khandaan se nahi. MK is the real and not the ring.

And chain is definitely important...there was a reason why he said what he did in the initial episodes and then Mee giving it to SB. Can't be a coincidence.
