Frankly speaking, NM is good at writing romantic scenes which other Pak writers avoid due to controversy.

From what i have read, the initial story was a lot more violent but wahaj edited out alot of slaps and dialogues that were regressive. But I'm assuming yumna trusted the writer and did not make subsequent changes in meerab. So half the time audience could not understand why is she so mad at murtu all the time.

In the show meerab keeps wanting understanding from everyone but rarely does she extend the same courtesy. You mentioned the understanding she is getting from strangers but that too is based on a lie. Would they say the same if they found out that she has run away from her husband? Would they say the same knowing who exactly are the khans? That she already has two sets of parents who do love her? Hence, i don't put too much stock into these badi badi hawayi baatein.

As a viewer I'm emotionally invested in MuMe as a couple and in murtasim individually but not in meerab individually. This is where the writing has failed. They haven't given any scope to the audience to connect with the FL.

No wonder that since yesterday everyone is happy to see the og murtasim back. Bec at this point meerab is making zero sense.

@red: the problem is it's no normal marriage! It was forced one! And the ways they adopted to force it on her makes her adamant on not accepting it despite Murtesim's caring attitude towards her!

And why should she simply accept it? If i order chicken biryani & i get paneer kofta to eat(i dislike taste of paneer) should i silently eat it? 😆

When Merub expressed her wish to study law first Anila told Waqas, rishtas are coming... Merub cleared she's not interested in marriage at that moment bcz she need to be a just lawyer-like-her-baba... (And she added ghar jamaai banne ko koi tayyar hai toh hi consider karegi) The fact is she was not ready for marriage at all!

And maze ki baat yeh hai, Murtesim ne khud uski padhaai rokne ke liye "shaadi ka upaay" diya... Shaadi came into picture only bcz of her wish to study was mentioned. Even if this was only thing they have done, she wouldn't give in & accept the marriage!

Then they revealed her parentage truth in such a brutal way to make her agree for marriage! That itself serves a strong reason to not accept marriage!

And yes it wasn't Murtesim's wish to get married... But no big thing changed in his life... And when Merub said yes to marriage he didn't have any objection towards marriage...

So we can't blame Merub for putting no efforts!

@italic: I compared the middle class fam with khans & waqas regarding their view on forcing marriage! Their opinion might change after knowing she's married... But if she wasn't married they wouldn't force it on her & that really makes a huge difference to her! Regarding her lie, I'll wait until her reason for leaving gets revealed...

And regarding parents' love... Even though Waqas didn't take a stand for her during forced marriage, he genuinely loved Merub & stood by her at times but Anwar DIDN'T! Loving your own child shouldn't be conditional! Only love one would get without putting any efforts is that from blood relations! And just saying that somebody loves their child is not truth until they prove it through their actions! MB(i dont appreciate her parenting at all, still) to Maryam despite her eloping is far better than Anwar to Merub!

@blue: I always understand Merub & her issues... And I relate to her to a certain extent... Only things i didn't relate to her are her giving rude replies to Murtesim without any apparent reason(maybe bcz Merub's responses to Murtesim's slaps etc. weren't edited by writer like u said)

And the next thing i didn't like about her is, she finally letting Maryam go with MZ but there too i can see what was the things that made her do that!

There's one more thing i didn't like, Merub stopped Maryam from slapping Haya!

Other than that i can clearly relate to her insecurities, pain of abandonment, trust issues and every argument she had with Murtesim regarding Haya etc.

Do they have edits.. murtu and zubi.. that Maryam saving night there were some blast moments between them. 🤣🤣

God yesterdays scene when Haya is telling MK that he shouldn't be sad, he should hate Meerab because she left him...I just couldn't get over the acting. No expression, so voice emoting, cringe cringe. She should stick to making creepy smiles.
