Acc to an article:

Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting said Hardik Pandya was asked about making himself available for the one-off WTC final but he thought it would be unfair on the rest of the Indian players who have played throughout the WTC cycle to help the team reach the finals

That's the one line that was mentioned in commentary earlier today. He made it clear that he feels his body won't get through the rigours of Test cricket. He was thrown up in a game like this what do you think about playing in a game like this, just a one-off Test just to help the balance of the side? And his reply apparently was that he didn't feel it was fair on everyone else who have been through this journey in the last couple of years leading into this game," Ponting answered.

No. I am an ethically very strong person. I haven’t done 10 per cent to reach there. I am not even a part of 1 per cent. So me coming there and taking someone’s place will ethically not go well.”

β€œIf I want to play Test cricket, I’ll go through the grind and earn my spot. Hence, for that reason I will not be available for the WTC final or future Test series until I don’t feel that I have earned my spot,” he had said.

Why players like Gill who has barely experience are being part of Playing 11 in WTC

Kohli has failed for 3 and half years in tests, he has one of the worst averages in test cricket in that period. But he can play but youngsters cannot? What is this logic? When seniors like pujara, kohli are constantly failing, youngsters is not the problem.

In fact, we need more youngsters and they need more exposure. Thelast series we won in australia it was without experience youngsters like Sundar and Gill who stood up for us, kohli wasnt even there when we won

A 12-wicket day at the Kennington Oval yesterday and the scales are tilted firmly in favour of the Australians. They added 142 runs to their overnight score of 327 for 3 and finished with 469, a total which is above competitive in English conditions. That allowed their pacers to put pressure on India's top-order which crumbled without much resistance. Rohit was undone by seam, Gill and Pujara misjudged their leaves, Kohli was beaten by a brute and Jadeja, who looked so comfortable during his knock of 48 fell in the final passage of play, leaving India at 151 for 5, still 318 runs adrift of Australia's first innings score. Ajinkya Rahane has looked solid and he'll have to guide the lower order if India are to get anywhere close to Australia's first-innings total. The entire Indian top-order got starts, but they didn't have a Travis Head to counter-punch or a Steve Smith to hold one end up. Jadeja did try and do the former, but his innings didn't last too long.

A perfect day in South-East London. It's going to be warmer than yesterday with 0% chance of rain. With the sun baking, this pitch will deterioratefurther which is good news for Australia. The cracks are going straight down the pitch and that brings in variable bounce, there are some divots as well. It's going to spin off the pitch as well, it will get drier, it's hard underneathand will continue to help the spinners as well, reckon Nasser Hussain and Dinesh Karthik, in their pitch report.

On a pitch that's showing signs of deterioration, this is a commanding position Australia find themselves in and they'll look to take further control today. The follow-on target is still 119 runs away, but that could be the least of their worries, considering how the pitch has been playing. Having found themselves in a hole, can India dig themselves out of it? The first hour could be very crucial towards that end.

38.2 Boland to Srikar Bharat, out Bowled!! Right through Bharat's defence, the perfect start for Australia - on a good length and nipping back into the right-hander, Bharat was only half-forward in defence, brought the bat down with an angle, a tiny gap between bat and pad, and the ball found a way to sneak through, crashes into the top of middle and Bharat lasts just one ball on Day 3. Disaster for India and they find themselves on the back-foot, right at the start of play. Srikar Bharat b Boland 5(15)

Boland to Srikar Bharat, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!

Follow on is there if India doesn't score 270 atleast?

But Australia can decide i guess if they want to impose follow on.
