IMO marriage never sustains because two ppl have baraabari rather either of them are too committed to living in it. Bhaktu or others opinions shouldn't matter to murtu because he's yearning to live with meerub and not finding her, her safety, salaamathi(well being) are of highest importance to murtasim. Many ppl here mention about how his love is eternal blah blah but to me love is selfish, having the urge to live with that person, feeling inadequate and incomplete without the other person, emotions have no gender.
