I know a Superman who isn't scared of Kryptonite, I call him Dad.

From giving us piggyback rides to rolling his eyes at our teenage rebellion, he is there, always. From training us for contests to cheering us on our first day at school, college, university, work, he was always in the front seat, proud of his little baby.

Papa, Baba, Father, Dad, Dada, whatever you call your father, here's a day to celebrate him.

Father's Day is celebrated today on 18 June 2023 to honor fathers and celebrate fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. The date changes every year, however, the celebration typically falls on the third Sunday in June for most countries like the US, UK, India, France, Cyprus, South Africa, Greece, Japan, Canada and Netherlands. The people in Switzerland celebrate Father's Day on the first Sunday of June, while in Russia, it is celebrated on 23 February.

Father's Day was originally created by a woman. History.com states that in 1909, Sonora Smart Dodd "tried to establish an official equivalent to Mother’s Day for male parents." On June 19, 1910, the state of Washington observed the first-ever Father's Day. The idea was to appreciate the important role of a father in one's life since majority of the time, a mother's role in her child's life overshadows the father's.

Different families observe and celebrate this day in different ways. Traditionally, children give greeting cards, and presents to the paternal figures in their life. This isn't just restricted to a dad, it expands to include male grandparents too.

The Crazy Creatives wish you all a very Happy Father's Day! Share below some fond memories/moments of your father that you can remember and cherish. Make sure you tell your dad just how much you love him and for those who have sadly lost their father, spare a moment today to send them a special prayer!

I think Fathers aren't as appreciated as mothers in the role they play in bringing up a child. Maybe because historically/traditionally the mother was always the one to stay close to the child in bringing them up and while that is still true today we shouldn't forget the other parent that does sacrifice a lot for their child.

Wishing all dad's on IF and beyond a very happy father's day.

I have far too many fond memories with my dad... so can't pick one but overall I think I've found myself becoming his best friend in my adult life. And that's the most beautiful aspect of any relationship...being able to support and love your parent like a true friend would.

Father is the hero without wearing a cape.

Happy Fathers Day to all the daddys😳

I have grown up in a typical family where my Dad used to work and mom was taking care of our education till she started to work too. Dad has sacrificed his health to provide us a roof, food and all the things we needed as kids and teens.

He used to work in a factory where time hours were hard. One week morning, then afternoon, then nights and weekends.

I remember with my bros we were so scared to make noise so that he could sleep... and also we did not wanted to wake him up when it was time to go at work...

Now he is living his second life being retired. Alhamdullilah.

Fathers are also a figue of sacrifice though they don't show their emotions to protect their families.

I was always a daddy's girl while growing up, but after marriage I have gotten more close to my mom. Still, I can't imagine my life without any of them.❤️

I didn't really appreciate my father while he was alive. I though all fathers do this and that. It is his job to keep us safe , happy and financially stable. But love and care only mothers provide.. so mothers are more important.

And now ..13 months after the last time I saw him.. I feel lost. 😭 I feel like having none beside me. I have no strenghth lest to fight the world, and I have nobody to relay on. He was the only one who stands strong by my side, and solves my toughest problems.. he used to tolerate my nervousness, and teach me how to control it. He taught me everything.. but he didn't teach me how to live without him. May Allah grants him the highest place in Jannat.🤲
