Maybe I’m the only one who understands both Murtasim and Meerab’s feelings. I’m not saying they are right, they are both wrong but I understand it.
Meerab came back expecting to try to make it work with Murtasim. He has no idea of her realizing her feelings for him. There are some major trust issues. Meerab has always had a problem with Murtasim giving too much leniency to Haya. Murtasim always underestimated Haya’s capabilities. I think he thought as long as he isn’t interested then all is good. Also he enjoyed seeing the jealous side of Meerab because maybe that was the only indication he got that she had some interest in him. Murtasim never understood why Meerab would go Rohail’s place alone knowing that he has feelings for her. Once she said that he forced her to go, I think he further questioned why she would remain in contact with him. Meerab just thinks she’s going out with a friend and doesn’t see what the big deal is. So when Meerab came back and tapped Murtasim’s shoulder and responded with saying Haya’s name, it really bothered her even though you could sense that he was annoyed while saying Haya’s name. Murtasim gives a petty response and asks where Rohail is and Meerab becomes equally petty saying that she could have come with him.
Then we have Murtasim have a moment of hope when he sees the note but that ends up with Meerab catching Murtasim and Haya in a very compromising position. It made her extremely angry and she slapped him, spat on him and questioned his entire character. I’m not saying what she did was right but I guess she reacted in the heat of the moment. That followed by whatever words were exchanged. Meerab now has feelings for Murtasim and her moment of insecurity and vulnerability loses control over the one thing she always had control of - the contract. She’s clearly disappointed in herself for doing it with someone who she believes is cheating on her with Haya in all of this. She’s also upset with Murtasim because she believes he cheating on her with Haya. Overall, she’s upset at losing her self respect - something that she values the most over everything. She feels like she’s lost herself.
Murtasim clearly lost trust in Meerab after the whole Mariam eloping incident. He confided in her and showed her his most vulnerable side and told her how much he needed her. To him, she prioritized her promises to everyone else over him. He really lost hope at that point. Seeing her with Rohail and thinking yet another promise was broken solidified his belief that she may never love him. He too had a moment of weakness when he saw the note and logic went out the window for him. He knows that she left on her own in the middle of the night. He isn’t going around trying to ruin her character…he’s keeping it within the family. He always hid the Rohail thing from everyone before but the fact now is that Meerab ran away. Why is Murtasim expected to still protect her character? I know we want him to but I can understand where he is coming from. Why he is so certain that Rohail has her, I have no idea. Suspicion is one thing but he seems so certain. I still think he doesn’t want to believe that she would leave on her own and trying to place blame elsewhere.
The two things that don’t make sense to me is Meerab going with a strange man rather than to her parents. Maybe that is to justify a separation where Murtasim doesn’t know where she is. I think they shouldn’t have made the parents so protective and defensive over Meerab in the latest episodes and then maybe it was would make more sense. Also Murtasim not calling out Haya on the hug makes no sense. But no one calls Haya out on anything ever. They need her around for more drama I guess.
