The direction to this series is so confusing. Aliyah with Asfer and Aliyah with the rest of the characters are 2 different people. I don’t understand why her character is being compromised for a character that won’t even be her love interest? It makes no sense. I think Asfer and his backstory was a very unnecessary addition, even though I enjoy his character. At the end people will feel more bad for Asfer then they will feel happy about Salman. Especially because they have spent more time showing softness with AA and showing fights and narazgi with SA. So in the last 5 episodes you slap SA together of course it won’t hold the same merit and buildup and love that AA has been given. This is also one of the reasons why I hate love triangles because the broken hearted takes away from the endgame, unless the broken hearted also finds another love.
Also there is a clear bias towards AsferAlia vs SalmanAlia. Why are they focusing on the not endgame more then the actual endgame especially because there is no suspense around it because of the Dildara ost release. AsferAlia do not serve anything to the plot. If we needed to see jealous or insecure Salman we could have done that with less Asfer screen time. Why do I know more about Asfers whole backstory instead of Salman? Not to mention the direction styles between the two couples. One definitely has more romantic flair compared to the other which seems like every other scene in the show. Why isn’t Alias hair blowing in the wind when she is bumping into Salman. A perfect time would have been when he is throwing petals or when she is mentioning the sock thing or when she is lying in bed thinking about Salman. Sajal has beautiful chemistry with both her co stars but one definitely seems like it is better not because their chemistry IS better, but the direction and the way their chemistry is being utilized and it’s definitely being given more love. Them standing extremely close to each other with him looming over her, her hair blowing in the wind in a dramatic fashion, her being doe eyed with him majority of the time, the softness of the lighting in their scenes, then having the slow dramatic effects when looking at each other, etc. like come on! None of that is applied to the scenes with Salman and Aaliyah. The only thing that gives their moments some substance is the Dildara ost playing for them.
There definitely is bts politics going on and it’s apparent in the show. If it weren’t true, Bilal wouldn’t have the need to repost that reviewers post. He obviously knew that this series didn’t serve their chemistry that’s why he wants to do another one with Sajal and I really am hoping they do (but after a gap). It’s so frustrating with this pair because they have been casted 3 times and the only one that did their chemistry remotely justice is O rangreza but that was a toxic ship and also they played that role 5 years ago when they looked like babies. I would prefer them in a series where they can have more range to show off their skills. I have nothing against Shehryar; I actually really love him but his shine was not for this show; it was for the family in the title card and Bilal and Sajal who they marketed with. And I almost positive that Sajal and Shehryar are going to come in another show soon.
Anyways I have more to say about Salman and the rest of group but I will mention it later.
