The groundstaff have done a terrific job with regards to that concerned practice pitch. They managed to apply what looked like a mixture of saw dust and green sand and are now busy rolling it nicely to ensure we get the ground game-ready ASAP. The umpires and match referee, Javagal Srinath, are having a chat with the groundstaff.

The groundstaff seem to have sprinkled some sort of sand or sawdust (someone in the ESPNcricinfo office suggested it could be kinetic sand - whatever that is) onto the damp area we've been talking about. They're also using the roller on it. Let's hope all that has the intended effect. The crowd continues to dance.
