So as I think about it more, what really irks me and adds to the annoyance with the turn of events is not that he feels guilty/ she feels she let herself down. I can wrap my head around that for them. It’s the overly exaggerated responses - I didn’t buy them …for what they were trying to depict. Her leaving and running around Karachi in the middle of the night, stumbling as if she was abused/sick/ escaping a monster who’s kept her in captivity. Even if you’re disgusted with yourself, you don’t really stumble while you’re walking. Him punching the mirror over and over again to punish himself. That is complete overkill and kinda weird. Now, if that reaction was for MR, then I could completely understand that reaction. But just feeling very very bad, guilty, regretful, doesn’t usually lead to MULTIPLE furious determined mirror punches.
Weakness is not “non-consent” … there is a BIG difference and I can’t equate the two even remotely. While I can see him feeling guilty for giving into her weakness, I can’t see it to the degree of guilt and anger that causes one to punch a mirror several times. I think they really wanted to add that dramatic element and scene, and just like some of their heavy dialogues sometimes, it fits weirdly, thereby causing mass confusion.

Yeah but they had an ugly fight right? She said some terrible things about him and I suspect he did too. He isn’t wrong for thinking that she regrets it. They waited so long and this is how they do it? They were already broken up and things got even worse. There is no stability in their relationship - they not only didn’t get back together and things escalated really badly. Meerab has developed feelings for Murtasim and it’s possible had a moment of insecurity seeing him in someone else’s arms. The vulnerability might have lead to a moment of weakness. That contract was so important to Meerab and the only thing in her control and she broke it in the worst of circumstances. She also doesn’t trust Murtasim. I can understand why she would think she let herself down. Murtasim’s guilt is also valid because he knows this is not how Meerab would want to break the contract if she ever was ready to break it. He feels like he let her down. We need more of an explanation. We need an explanation of Murtasim’s head space because they haven’t given us that prior to all of this. We only started hearing Meerab’s thoughts.
