I have been thinking about this a lot since last few days, after reading articles and posts about strugglers, newcomers and models etc going around with much younger stars and how they get big banner films, hit big league or get in relations with stars old enough to be their dads and how fans also ask not to judge or call it consensual.
Are these newcomers also greedy, want short cuts, easy route and are gold diggers?
Regardless of gender (considering we have young male actors too willing to be toy boys for bigshot producers or designers or actors).
The power imbalance in status and age, money, influence is too much. But are these starlets under coercion, threat or some other control to yield to pressure or demands of these big stars and producers? If not, then is it fair to say they are okay with it, consented and are greedy for shortcuts, easy route to get better lifestyle, work or publicity or opportunity?
If they are not coerced, under duress, raped or threatened or if they have other means to work or earn and will not starve, then if they still develop 'beneficial relations' with employers, then is it fair to call them gold diggers?
Do most starlets stick around or get work due to being gold diggers and less due to talent?
