IMO credit should be given where it's due, NM has dared to create an imperfect FL in a culture with a mindset where women are mostly made responsible for their plight and for the behaviour of entire households. She's dared to thrust the responsibility of sustaining a loveless and challenging marriage on a guy as ML who is a feudal lord, because in feudal setups men and their chivalry are always shown to be proportional to how recklessly their household women especially wives are treated. Hence we should appreciate her for her thinking. Somewhere she's shifting the balance and this thinking is very important because relationships exist due to the balancing act of both parties. This change of thinking can begin only when we stop idolising chauvinism and take away the garb of chivalry from it. Murtasim definitely is one good step in that direction and the success of TB can spell many more such characters to come enabling a tectonic shift in real perceptions.
