Women do have right to divorce in Islam there is a clause in marriage contract if not cancelled out then it is an easy process for women in majority cases without even asking female it is striked out then women have to take divorce through court if man is not giving (khulla)

In the nikah contract in Pakistan, there is a clause in which the wife is delegated right to divorce, As in she can also unilaterally say I give talak, talak, talak and go her merry way. Unfortunately, the maulvis ask families to cut out the clause unless the family tells the maulvi to shut up. This was a plot point in Kuch Ankahi - see the episode where Samia is getting married and her phuppo gives a lecture to the maulvi that how dare you take Samia's religious and legal right away from herby making her cut out the clause.

The above is the only way for a woman to unilaterally give divorce like a man.

Otherwise, if a woman who wants divorce, has to ask the man (or the courts) to grant her one. This is called khula.
